take notice to wake's wins this year:

Army
Maryland
Duke (by 5)
Florida State
Navy
UNC

and losses:

BC
Nebraska
UVA
CLEMSON (by 34)

i'll give them the fsu win, that was a well played game..however, no other games impress me up to this point besides the come from behind maryland win.

i think it'll be an interesting game

Wake favored by 6.

hmm...here's another one: If the pack scores more points, then we win.

How awesome would it be if BC finished one spot ahead of us in the ACC standings, but we skipped over them for a bowl appearance because their fans don't travel. Sweet sweet vindication for TOB

everybody keeps saying eugene is going to be the go-to score guy for this game.

i actually predict dunlap will get a good catch this game for a touchdown and have a bit of a break out game. as a senior and team co-captain he hasn't really had a great break out game this season. he is due

and as long as wake respects the running game enough that should open up some opportunities

BUT PLEASE NO SCREEN PASSES OR SHORT LOFTS TO THE WIDER SIDE OF THE FIELD WITH NO PROTECTION. at least throw the interception to the short side and not for a return td.

Anyone have the bowl schedule that shows who in what conference would play who in the bowls? If its the same as last year theres potential for us to play Penn State in Orlando (If we somehow finish 4th)... my gf's dad is a huge Penn State fan, that would be awesome.

What is Oliver's Woofing Theorem

Oliver's Woofing Theorem states, in a nutshell, that in any given
athletic competition (team, individual, amatuer, professional), the
team/player who is the most over-hyped/over-praised by his/her/its
fans/supporters is doomed to LOSE the competition. For example, if
immediately preceding a game between the Seattle Mariners and the
Toronto Blue Jays, two Blue Jay's fans state that "Toronto will kick
ass", while only one Seattle fan makes a similar claim, then Seattle
is guaranteed a win by the ubiquitious and omnipresent Gods of Woofing.

I don't want to jinx us but it would be awesome knowing at one point you were 1-5 and headed for 1-11 and now we h ave people talking about bowl games. Talk about something great considering I didn't expect it. If we make a bowl anywhere fun I'm there.

Bowl games I hope for (in no particular order):
Charlotte - Meineke Car Care Bowl (i live in Charlotte)
San Francisco - Emerald Bowl (never been to San Fran)
Nashville - Music City Bowl (haven't been to Nashville in years, plus it would be against a Big Ten team)
Orlando - Champs Sports Bowl (wish it was still called the Tangerine Bowl; warm Orlando for the Holidays)

Please no Boise - Humanitarian Bowl. I would take any bowl, but I like many Pack fans would have this last on the list.

at this point I'd be happy to go anywhere, since we've already accomplished the main objective of each season. I wouldn't mind being able to say I've set foot on that ugly field in Boise once in my life, but San Fran is more touristy and Charlotte would bring the most massive fan support if we won out

But Nashville would be pretty sweet too. I've been to Florida twice now since last March and I'm getting tired of that shit, so personally orlando is near the bottom of my list.

I agree with the statement that this will be the end of our winning streak. I can only hope that we win out, but I just don't see it as reasonable.

yeah, wake ended our "streak" last year off big back to back wins

it was good to see wake get physically beat up pretty bad by a big clemson line. glad it's not just us that got man-handled by them. that puts us in the same boat as wake as a far as I'm concerned.

I see a few good things happening for us this week on the running game and hopefully a respected pass game:

NCSU 27 (3 touchdowns, 2 field goals)
WAKE 16 (1 touchdown, 3 field goals)

Well since we were arguing in another thread I thought I would just throw this out there for Evans' haters.

His stats for our 4-game winning streak:
100 of 172 (58 %)
1118 Yards (279.5 per game)
8 TDs (7 passing/1 rush) 4 INTs (One through Darrell Davis's hands @ ECU and one through Bedics's hands Sat.)

If I told you ANY of our QBs would have that for a 4-game stretch at this point in the year, I am sure all of you would take it. Rivers is gone. Probably never will be another one. But we are improving.

WELL I can say why most of us are talking bowls...because NEW YEARS in charlotte, nashville, or orlando would be fun as hell!!!! But for real we win this next week and man it will feel good knowing that not only do we have a big chance for a bowl, but win the next weekend and we could get a decent bowl that all of us would want to go to. Hell I wouldn't mind doing the same thing I did in 2005. Check into Holiday Inn Center City with the rest of you wolfpackers the day before the game. get up tailgate go to the game...out that night, next night is new years down there. Would be fun as hell. The end.

Right now we just have to focus on the Wake Forest Bowl. Then after that, the Maryland Bowl.
