I have to admit, I'm really enjoying this show more than I thought I would.

For the wrestling events, do they screen people who have a lot of experience in grappling sports? Things like wrestling, judo, etc. Mind you, given the massive weight difference the skill might hold less of an advantage, but it was just a thought...

I'm glad this second set of women contestants are putting up a much better fight. The first two looked like that could easily break, but these second two are more impressive. Can't say the same about the second two guys though.

all in all, we were surprised at how not bad this was. i don't like some of the post-production elements, and i think the water part in the elminator needs to be removed.

and that marine girl kinda left us a little :-/ on the cargo net

I was glad that older guy got off, he was so arrogant it was annoying. When they were standing their getting ready for the Pyramid I was like, "Please let him get Wolf, pleeeease." and then Wolf walked out and I was excited, haha.

Wolf is my favorite guy and Crush is pretty hot.

They need to have Assault on every episode, haha.

This is just too over the top and stupid. The best part of the original was that it was simple, and half the time the shit didn't work(the gun jamming, the elastic fucking up, etc) it added another element.

This is just like everything else that gets remaked. A lot of flash, effects, graphics, lights, and in the end, its just cheesy crap. But, I was pretty entertained and will most likely continue to watch.

i enjoyed it but at the same time was dissapointed. i was dissapointed in some of the events. mainly powerball and the rings. the goals for powerball were rediculously big. one dude shot from a distance. that was impossible with the old school goals. and the ring course was sooo short. the old one was 3 times the length. also the set looks like who wants to be a millionaire not gladiators. wolf, titan, crush, and venom saved the show for me.

The blood explains why she couldn't swim or climb afterwards. It's a shame because if she didn't take that hit, I think she would have easily blown right past the other lady (swimming and cargo nets should be old hat for the USMC).

horrible horrible tv show. Don't they (the producers) get that part of the appeal with the old show was that it was a real, albeit extremely cheesy, athletic competition (or at least it was close enough that most people bought it)?

This new show, from hogans horrible hosting, to the obnoxiously scripted quotes before and after the events, to being seemingly rigged on the eliminator... wow, I mean I didn't expect much but I did enjoy the old one back in the day and I was seriously disappointed with the new one.

Also, all of the different angles and shit during the competition were annoying to. You could hardly see what was going on.

Does anyone know whats up with the green diagonal stripes when they shows a certain shade of red on NBC?

I love it, awesome show. The cuts and commercials do suck, but that's what DVR is for, plus rewinding the pyramid when a little dude gets thrown 20 feet or a couple gladiators nail someone in powerball. It's way more intense than the first one, and just as good if not better.

^^^ yeah i really hate the editing. they edit it so it looks really close and suspensful, but it's probably not. you can never really get a grasp on some of the events (ie powerball or eliminator).

the worst editing was on the last women's eliminator, when they kept cutting back and forth between the girls like it was close, when it was obvious that they were at least 10-15 seconds apart.

plus the cheesy music throughout just reminded me of hell's kitchen or something

After watching the Monday show, this shit is terrible and painful to watch. The soundbites from the contestants are so fucking corney, the events are shit, and the eliminator is the worst setup.

The only reason the one guy won, was that he put his feet on the outside of the tredmill to get himself upright. And it is smarter to just run past that cylinder thing and the hand bike then it is to actually try to do them because there is no penalty.

Get this crap off the air and just replay original episodes.
