We could learn some things from this game.

In 2.5 minutes, Wake has demonstrated how to push tempo and Iowa has shown how to get the ball upcourt against a press without turning it over.

"another turnover created by that Wake defense!" is not something I'm used to hearing

At the first timeout (called by Iowa), Wake leads 11-4. Keep it up! Go Deacs!

Wake just turned down two or three good 3-point opportunities...just to take a bad one.

Having watched a few Iowa basketball games, I've got to say it's sad that the Iowa basketball program was blessed with an arena like Carver-Hawkeye Arena yet have a terrible atmosphere. I mean that place is setup perfectly for noise. It's got 15,500 seats set up in pit style seating with a very low roof. It would be perfect for making a lot of noise. Yet their student section is small (and not very noisy), and the fans just hardly ever seem into it. The student section should consist of two parts at each baseline and go all the way to the top.

Ced probably clanked it off the back of the rim making it fly 30 ft. backwards.

the iowa game was one of the lowest points of my life as a state fan

This game is horrible. Iowa is on pace to score 40. Wake hadn't scored in over 8 min and was still up double digits.

Dear Wake Forest,

Learn to charge the boards after shots or you'll go 4-12 in ACC play.

We got some mad by some of the analysts when they were talking about our game with Michigan State
perhaps being the best one of the "Challenge" and them mentioning Jimmy V Week starting with our game.

Teams are a combined 2-26 from 3.

The refs we had for Nova should be working this garbage.

^This pic is pretty good for seeing how many rows of seats there are. Looks like a ton and looks fairly steep as well. Also what's with all of the exposed tubes. At least they have been painted yellow I guess.

Go to Flickr and do a search for Carver-Hawkeye to see these at full quality. The full quality ones show a lot more detail.

I think it's a decent arena for college, but I ain't ready to give up the RBC Center. It's as nice as a NBA arena, yet still has a great student section setup.

Speaking of great designed arenas that don't have much to it on the outside, I've always been partial to New Mexico's University Arena aka The Pit, capacity 18,018. Coincidentally that's where we won the 1983 National Championship. It's hard to see, but there is a small upper deck that was added to hang over the original seats in 1975. UNM may turn it into luxury suites in the future though.

It looks like a roller rink on the outside.

I don't care what Oregon thinks, the real Pit is at New Mexico. It actually is a pit, unlike McArthur Court.

Kind of like Death Valley at Clemson and LSU.

i hate this time of the year when I am always torn between wanting duke, unc, and maryland to win games or to fucking get their asses kicked by shitty teams. on one hand, i hate them. on the other, it is better for the conference, and for us in the long run of the season, to have those teams win early especially in their big OOC games.

fuck... what to do. I think I always want UNC to lose regardless, and Duke/Maryland to win until we play them and hopefully win. Seems like a good compromise.

That's my rule. And to make it a little easier, I always avoid watching the Maryland and Duke games so I don't have to really pull one way or the other.

can't decide if that's worse than when some announcer called him demetrius nichols last year

I want them all to win all of their out of conference games, and lose all of their in conference games.

And although even though I technically hope UNC and Duke win their OOC games, I still find myself cheering for the other team to win when I watch them.

In conference, pretty much the only time I pull for one of them is when they play each other. When that happens, I always pull for the away team, so that we get shots of sad tarholes/dookies.

I'll pick Clemson
and Illinois

happy now dickface?

but seriously, you're saying i didn't make picks when i didn't choose 2 of 11 games? what are the other 9 then? fluff? imaginary? did I not make those other 9 picks already?

So Miami is the ACC team who doesn't get to play in this year's challenge

Last year didn't 2 ACC teams sit out and 1 Big 10 team? Or am I thinking back before BC/VT/Miami

that sounds like you said i didn't pick at least 2 of any of them,

anyways, big fucking deal that i didn't pick 2.

minnesota sucks, FSU isn't 'great' but they don't suck that much
highly doubtful that wisconsin will do anything to duke either

anyways, you're still wrong on your first pick
