I would like to say my condolences to the Taylor family. I can't believe he died. I feel bad for him and his family as he has an 18 month old daughter and wife. Now that I am a father I feel for those kind of situations more now.

what i love though

is that there are cowboy fans on FB in the taylor groups and online on the local news websites

and theyre like "rip taylor, pray for his family, REDSKINS SUCK"

i like to think that the ghost of sean taylor appreciates that

I can't imagine what his loved ones are going through. If anyone else ever wears #21 for the Redskins I'm gonna puke. He's the hardest hitting safety I've ever seen, RIP Sean, you'll be missed.

All over the DC media. I first thought he had screwed up again and was gonna live, but get up this morning and he's dead.

Not a Skins fan, but my heart goes out to them this week. It'll be interesting to see if this turns out to be a hit.

Real bummer to see this happen. As a Giants fan I enjoyed watching the guy play, even when he was beating us up. He was an awesome safety and never even hit his prime. A real sad story here.

I remember in 03 I wanted the Gmen to draft this guy so bad.

anyone can get robbed, not just thugs....and there have been several cases in the past few months of NFL players being held @ gunpoint and robbed. Looks like its becoming a trend.

anybody can get shot in their part time house at 1:45 am on a Sunday night after the intruders had already cut the phone line?

unless it was his wife who shot him because he was sleeping around, then yes he was into some thug shit

And a week before, they break into the same house, dont steal anything, and leave a knife in sean taylor's bed. Sounds like they warned him about a hit

Its the U

If I had to pick a college where one of their football alumni was most likely to be shot, I'd pick the U everytime

Everyone on the team and everyone else close to Sean Taylor has been saying he's grown up since his daughter was born. Yes, they acknowledged the fact that he had a rough past, but people CAN grow up. Just because he was murdered doesn't mean he was currently into some "thug shit."

I dunno, who should we believe? All the people close to him? his teammates? or some random fag who calls himself "treetwista" on The WolfWeb that knows nothing about him?

yes they can. I wasn't aware there were rules/time constraints to follow to be eligible to get legitimately robbed/shot.

and he reported it, so he must not have been worried about telling the police anything.

He was 24, lets not make it seem like this was some 33 year old man who had settled down. He was younger than a lot of people on this board. He may have calmed down a bit, but few people are mature at 24.

you guys are pretty naive...i'm sure it was just a random robbery...vick didnt fight dogs...carruth didnt have his fiance shot, etc...they all had their lives turned around...i know that for a fact because thats the company line the coach and players gave on the news...it wasnt just NFL public relations training, they were being honest

Sorry terp you're right...60 year olds starting fights in motels happens all the time, and 24 year olds getting shot at is like a once a year thing.

Yeah, John Casay didn't have people after HIM

GOOD POINT

I'm sorry, I forgot you need to be a thug to have people wanting to kill you, or just be murdered for any other reason.

You don't have to be, but it helps.

If Pac and Biggie played the drums in rock bands, they'd still be kicking today.

dude, anytime you have prior charges involving weapons of any kind

the preponderance of evidence is going to suggest that

you were probably involved in some thug shit

i mean his house got robbed a week or two ago according to gibbs, which is why he was down there the week before

so something else was probably going on...this wasnt just a random robbery

what's naive is to rule out any possibility of this being random, or at least no fault of taylor. sure there is a possibility he was into something he should've been, but on the flip side there is the possibility he wasn't.

do you think all the other nfl players who have been robbed in the past year were robbed b/c they were into some "thug shit"?

It was probably someone from his OLD life who didn't want to see him succeed as he was doing.

Sean Taylor cleaned up his act, you could see it on the field - he was voted by veterans into a leadership position on the team - everyone could see the changes.

I don't think it was random, I also don't think it was him being involved in some "thug shit"

1) Could have been a hit from someone that had recent beef with him.

2) Even if he had been a saint for the past 18 months, could have been a hit from someone who has a memory and carries beef longer than 18 months.

3) Could have been a break-in targeting Sean Taylor because he was a pro athlete in Miami, not specifically for anything he did. They may not have intended to kill him but hold hostage/rob him (see Antoine Walker).

4) Could have been a random burglary/robbery...doesn't seem like the most likely of the 4 scenarios.

Within the next two months, details will emerge to suggest very strongly, if not prove, that what happened to Sean Taylor was indeed some thug shit.

I can't promise that, I just feel very strongly that it will happen.

He wasn't hanging around with the wrong crowds of people OFF the field...you could easily tell this, by his play ON the field, since they're completely related

It seems to me that someone knowingly involved in recent thug shit would have been better prepared to defend himself than taylor was, especially after he's proven he keeps guns around.

I think its stupid to act like any of you know what really happened. There is a good chance that he was deep into some stuff, and there's a chance that he was being robbed and he tried to defend his house and they shot at him.

How many people are murdered in the 1st degree by being shot in the leg? How many people are randomly killed during a break in a week after someone comes in and leaves a knife on their bed? this is all speculation and that's well and good, but don't act like you KNOW what really happened.

Bottom line is that this guy is dead and its sad. Take your accusations and your shitty attitude to the chit chat thread. This is a tragedy and I for one would rather mourn this awesome players death than have a pissing contest over who knows what happened. Grow the fuck up.
