because he could never do that in michigan

i mean, thats going to be so much easier at nc state

(granted - all of your other points make a lot of sense)

Well it's a lot easier to play and prove a point against BC when they are in your conference and in your division. Michigan and BC don't play annually.

Les Miles announcement came across like Roy's announcement after the national champtionship game that he didn't give a shit about Carolina - and was working there 1 week later.

He hasn't signed the new contract yet. It doesn't make any sense for him to stay here if his contract has a specific clause to release him for Michigan. My guess is that he's probably going to go to Michigan but did not want rumors/leaked news to cause team unrest for the SEC title game. This morning ESPN was announcing that Les Miles to michigan was a done deal, and the only way to quell it was for him to publicly state that he was definitely staying at LSU. Ultimately I think he will still wind up at Michigan.

It's a little far fetched, but in no way unrealistic.

when your alma mater is as big of a program as michigan is, it's hard to pass up.

what point does getting beat by 20 points prove?

i mean, granted he's probably gonna win some against the old team- but you have to acknowledge he's regularly going to lose some as well

its not like he's ever going to get the kind of national attention, respect, and recruits at state that he would get at michigan

so if the goal is to play .600 or .700 ball against your old team, thats cool - good luck with the wolfpack

but if its your goal to show the ol' AD that you have what it takes to win a nat'l championship and really bring in some recruits and be a player on a national scale - go big blue

Plus I think he wants to stick around and really prove a point to BC's athletic director."

please, cut this shit out. it's embarrassing when people bring up pure coach-talk to give reasons why they don't think TOB would consider leaving.

if ND offered, he would consider it, and same goes w/ michigan. deal w/ it.

Sure he might consider it, but his wife wouldn't and that is all that matters.

with all their seniors, they shouldn't be as strong next year. if logan is gone as well...that's an even bigger decline imo.

Supposedly Logan got the endorsement of both OBC and Krzyzewski and an offer in the neighborhood of 5 years/$6 million

Maybe he's sick of competition, sunshine, and attractive women?

Remember when ND was ready for their Urban renewal? They couldn't fathom why anyone would think Florida would be a better football school than ND.

In my eight trips to Florida, I saw very few attractive women and it was 115 goddamn degrees outside.

But he won't leave Florida unless their fans drive him out because he loses the occasional game or two a year.

^^ what i read was that he didn't take the ND job b/c they wouldn't lower their academic standards for football players.

to compare the michigan job to the florida job is fine, personally i'd choose michigan, but no way meyer leaves florida at this point. he's won a NC, and has a damn good shot to win one again next year.

lol, i think i read it on wiki, so take it w/ a grain of salt. he did have the infamous out clause for ND though, so there has to be some reason he decided not to take the job.

The new hot rumor is Tommy Bowden giving Clemson the Sendek and heading to Arkansas.

[No]. Giving Clemson the Sendek would be resigning and going to Cincinatti or some shit. Arkansas is at worst a lateral move and probably an upgrade.

Bowden has the potential to dominate the ACC - or atleast win a couple of titles in the coming years.

he can then put his name in the hat for SEC jobs and demand a lot of $

From 850AM blog:

Quote :
"So, we’ve been over the fact that Duke approached Navy’s Paul Johnson yesterday and talked shop. Going for Joe Alleva and the Blue Devils is that Johnson’s interview with Georgia Tech didn’t go so well. Turns out that the Yellow Jackets are looking for more of a hype-man than a straight football guy. Going against Alleva and Duke is that SMU flew Johnson and his wife out to their facilities today and set the tone for any possible contract. Seems like SMU was a bit more generous in it’s offer than Duke. Don’t fret, because as Alleva told us, they’re Duke and SMU is not. "

That last statement makes my jaw drop. Yes Joe, Duke is in the ACC...
