Back in the day when it was DP, KO or Kilborn it was pure gold

You'd see all the highlights and laugh your ass off all the way through

at least give me Mayne and Wingo.

I only watch SC if it's the only way I can get any sort of highlights.

I used to love Dan Patrick, Kenny Mayne, Rich Eisen, Trey Wingo. I must not be old enough to know Kilborn, I mean I know him but not from the show. Stuart Scott before the eye went was pretty good, now I just hate trying to look at him. I'll change my video input before I actually watch him talk.

I like Neil Everett, Linda Cohn laughs too much during pieces. Scott Van Pelt is pretty solid too. John Anderson does well. And of course Trey Wingo is still with them. Overall, from MY glory days when I really began watching in the late '90s, it's definitely been going downhill. But that has to be said about the whole ESPN network, not just SC

give me 50 minutes of clear cut highlights, 1 top ten, 1 did you know. rinse repeat.

how can there be a bitch about SC and no mention of Chris Berman's 45 minutes of air time every hour on mondays. Just give him his own once a week 1 hr show on Monday night before mnf where he can do all this shit and I don't have to deal with it while trying to get highlights on some basketball games that were taking place earlier. Also, why the fuck does every player need a damn play on words nickname? Fuck him, he's a big reason I hate ESPN. Hell, there are some days we don't even get final scores and stats, let alone highlights, from top 25 basketball games.

I agree with a lot of this thread

I have been hating SC with a passion for a while now. I remember when my dad first got cable in the mid-nineties, it was freakin awesome. on days off from school, i would watch like 3 consecutive shows in a row in the morning when they just kept replaying the same one

now, i can hardly watch 30 minutes without changing the channel. I usually just watch 20 minutes of ESPN news and get the sports highlights that I want to see for the time being

besides the fact that Stuart Scott is always name-dropping on carolina, he always acts like he has to get the last word in. it's like he wants you to think he is an expert on sports knowledge, but really it's just information given to him by the writers

"What to watch for" is basically "let us show what we can hype on ABC/ESPN"... it may be a sporting event that no one gives a shit about, but they want you to watch it because it is on their network

I also miss what SC used to be. Dan Patrick, Kenny Mayne, Rich Eisen, Olbermann, Kilborn...generally better than what they have now. Van Pelt isn't bad. While I don't hate Stuart Scott, I can't really say I like him either. And the content, in general, sucks.

I do like Berman though. He can be a little annoying, but overall I still think he's funny. And for every nickname that's a clinker, there's another that is just golden.

And after remembering the good ole days where it was just 2 or 3 guys in the studio talking sports highlights, I have to agree. It has gone down the shitter.
