no, because I dont believe that CFN's opinion is totally worthless just because it doesnt make State look good...

and you do realize that many, if not MOST of the great sports writers never played a second of big time sports dont you?? playing the sport has NOTHING to do with being able to write about it, hell, John Clayton is the fucking man when it comes to the NFL and my 6 year old niece has a better chance to play in the NFL than he does

Yes, but Clayton gets his information from people who know. And the things he reports is rarely if ever an opinion. It's usually facts regarding trades, injuries, team chemistry, etc. In other words, he actually has to do work to gather content for his articles, as opposed to Caulton Tudor who uses small, often insignificant, facts and uses his own opinion to extrapolate on them and finish out his columns in the same way you or I could.

And you can't honestly tell me you think multiple players from 1-11 Duke or 4-8 Carolina should make the list over Hauschka or Morgan. But wait, you are a troll, so you probably will. Nevermind.

god dammit you ignorant slut

I am the one that made the damn thread and said "ouch" in the first place, so of COURSE I agree that it seems like SOMEONE on State should be in that list, if it was that obvious there shouldn't be then it wouldn't have been a surprise. But the whole point is that they CFN doesnt think that, so to at least one group of people that follow (and get paid to follow) college football there isnt a player worth shit on State's roster

^ and no, Clayton gives a LOT of opinion pieces, thats pretty much all he does on the radio

^ So you completely disregard your initial reaction to the list because you are a poor uninformed bastard who couldn't possibly know as much as the "venerable" CFN. That's kind of sad. If they had done anything more than looking at stats and watching a shit ton of college football, I could understand why you would do this. But this list is based solely on their opinions. Kind of like you and I questioning the list is based on ours. So unless you're implying they had some sort of agenda or media bias when you first questioned the list, why do you put any stock in it in the first place. And please don't feed me that shit about them making a living at it, because as I said before, there are at least 4 people in my hometown who make livings at writing about sports and they are undoubtedly dumber than you are.

And it's pretty funny you would call me an ignorant slut. Seems like you're ignorant to the meaning of a slut yourself.

sigh, you really have to be trolling now...

the whole point is the shitty view of NC State football out there, I PROMISE you that more people read CFN than read you or I, so their viewpoint is a lot more important than what you or I believe because other people (recruits perhaps) are more likely to read it than some random post by us. So do I just blindly follow them and disregard my own views? no, that would be dumb. But are there a lot of people that read CFN? yes.

And now it comes full circle. If nobody reads what you or I put on a message board, and if there's nothing I personally can do to change the opinions of the writers of CFN, why in the hell should I waste my time worrying about some arbitrary list. I seriously doubt a recruit is going to base any significant part of their decision in choosing a school on a list that isn't even regarded as the best of it's kind (the AP All-ACC team is better).

They are more likely to respond to $$ signs and hero worship thrown out there by the likes of Fulmer. And that is how you're supposed to troll. But I'm probably preaching to choir.

once again, its dumb to only talk about things related to sports that you can change...if that was how it worked then your average joe couldnt ever debate or talk about sports

but you win, State not having a player in the top 30 of their conference list put out by a popular website with many national writers/contributors is AWESOME!

KARAOKE!

^ That's your opinion idiot. I can't change it, so I'm not going to try and convince (beyond what I've already typed) otherwise.

Dajuan Morgan not being one of the top 5 defensive backs, let alone not one of the top 30 players, is a travesty.

IMO Blackman should be on there even w/out a great season because he didn't get kicked to after he returned one against Clemson.

Demario was injured, I understand him not being on there.

But that list is pretty much bogus.

and you two are fucking gay.

^^ I'm gay because I said pretty much the same thing as you, and I called Jaybee out for being a troll? Welp, I guess I'm a flamer then. And given Jaybee's substituting sarcasm for any semblance of the ability to argue, I guess I deserve to be in the top 30 as well.

^^ So I don't agree with you, I question the validity of your statements, and because of this, I'm a troll? Sounds like your supposed reasons for starting this thread. Guess that would make you a troll too. But again, this comes as no big surprise.

^ You mean the argument hasn't started yet? But in all seriousness, you questioned my opinion first. I responded. You responded to my response and so on and so forth. How does me defending my argument make me any different from you?

I called you a troll because I question your motives for starting this thread. Not because you were defending your position.

Is Dajuan really thinking about going pro?

That would really suck, and I honestly see him getting drafted second day if at all.

i cant believe some of you people are arguing to try and get our kicker on the all acc team list...if the kicker is the only thing we got goin for us, then why even bother arguing this. clearly this team has some work to do next season, and then maybe at the end of the season some of you can rejoice that a few of our players made a list that has no bearing on your life

hows this for some nice subtle bias in ESPN's ACC review. Just that one mention of us, other than mentioning Amato's firing.

Quote :
"
First-year North Carolina coach Butch Davis has the program headed in the right direction, but couldn't overcome the youth and inexperience.

And NC State coach Tom O'Brien -- discontented with Boston College -- left the best team in the Atlantic Division for the one that fared the worst.
"

no one listed on that All-ACC team either.

^^ The title of the article kills me. I mean, I think it's a little premature to be labeling Boston College a "stalwart of the ACC". They had more seniors making meaningful contributions than any other team in the league. If at the end of next year, they still sit atop the Atlantic, then maybe I'll buy it. Until then I want to wait and see what Jags can do with some of his own players. Who knows, he could be the next Ralph Freidgen.

i think you're right. no need to crown him king until he can prove that he can challenge for the ACC with players he recruited.
