There's no point. But when somebody maliciously puts obstructions in the road, because someone disturbed their pile of leaves...

It just pisses me off that you are considering doing this and people are agreeing with you. Suppose a motorcyclist had to go in the leaf pile for some reason and he fucking dies?

Nobody is talking about hiding cinder blocks on the sides of I40. If you're going fast enough through a residential street to fuck up your car severely (or kill yourself on a motorcycle) you should slow the fuck down.

its a neighborhood. you arent going to have a biker going 65 into a pile of leaves.

if you do, then well he is partially to blame. speed limits are 25-35.

if you obey them then you just may only get a bent rim, or flat tire.

i know it sucks, but when you put 6-7 hours worth of work to get your yard nice and some jerk off comes a long and drives through, then yeah something is going to happen.

and ive noticed that narrower streets tend to have their piles more on the grass than on the actual street. our street happens to be pretty wide. so is not much of a problem having them in the street.

People can still be severely hurt at 35mph. Either way if it ever happens to me, I will be paying for an alignment but the other guy will be paying for a new living room window. Problem not solved.

mature individuals are smart enough to resolve something like you avoiding something/someone and running into a pile of leaves that happens to have a log or block in it.

and they can also tell if you were being a jackass and trying to run the leaves everywhere.

i surely hope you really arent the type of guy who will throw a cinderblock through a window, because you will not only be paying for an alignment, you will also be paying for a window. and maybe some community service.

When I was a little kid I rode though leaf piles on a fucking Trek and I definitely wasn't wearing a helmet. In high school a friend of the family Dad was riding his bike in his neighborhood without a helmet, he fell and died. I'm just saying when the police come to the scene and then you have a lawsuit, you will wish you hadn't been an asshole that was so worried about a pile of leaves.

^^well im probably not going to do it. our leaf pile is scattered all over the place.

i just felt bad for my neighbor after he had all his leaves set up in bags.

^the police come to the scene and see a pile of leaves and some branches and logs.

so what? lawsuit. yeah, i can see that if there was cinder blocks and things that you probably wouldnt see in a yard.

Yeah. It pretty much takes the owner of the broken window to say that he didn't put a cinder block there before you smashed his window and almost hit him with a brick for you to be facing assault charges (among others).

Of course, the way that you act on TWW suggests to me that you have an 8th degree blackbelt in mixed martial arts, bench 475, and got kicked out of the navy seals for being too bad ass.

You think it would be resolved? How would that work? Would I knock on the door and say:

"Hey a kid darted out in the street from the other side of the road and I had to swerve to miss him. I hit your leaf pile and now I have a flat tire from a cinder block."

"Oh really?"

"Yea."

"Damn that sucks." Door closes in face.

I think someone could easily get away with a broken window to be honest.

honestly, if it was a cinder block, then yeah i would probably help pay, because i know if the cops were called they arent that dumb to realize what i did.

but if it was other "natural" debris that was in there. i probably would just say tough.

Honestly, and this is hypothetically, I wouldn't make a big deal/scene about it. I would pickup the block, put it through a window, and limp my car home. If someone was home, I'd do it later. I'd be that pissed off. I'm not at all driving around, blasting through neighborhoods and hitting your leaf pile at 70 miles an hour. I'm just saying maybe I don't want to run over that squirrel or child and I would like the option of not getting a flat tire because I had to mess up your leaf pile.

"A cinder block? Oh no! Must have been some of those damn high school kids that are always pulling pranks around here. I'll call the police if you want to report it."

i understand.

but the chances. on both sides of the pile.

if i get my pile messed up couple times a week. i am not going to care about much except for stopping whoever is doing this.

and if i come home to a cinder block through my window, well then i think i knew what just happened.

When someone hears the glass shatter, looks out to see you sneaking away and calls in your plate you can just explain to the cops "I was that pissed off."

people should be smart enough to realize that children/my drunken neighbor the other night do play in leaves and thus driving through them is not a good idea.

It would be cheaper to just forget about it. But I would guess people would be a lot more hesitant to hit bagged leaves, instead of an inviting freshly raked leaf pile.

That's it, keeping having faith in that justice system. It's shitty, but I got away with some bad pranks back in high school and I don't think it would be much different.

^ The cops don't give a shit about a lot of high school pranks. However, if a homeowner called in the plates of a guy who pulled some shit like that I would expect at least an arrest warrant.

Everyone got away with shit in high school, friendo.

I sincerely doubt they would get an arrrest warrant. But go ahead and put a brick in your leaves d-bag.
