Its not tire cost Robert, its tire compound.

There's a very good breakdown at TireRack about noise(comfort) vs safety vs performance.

Kuhmo Ecsta MX's were quieter then my Advan's.

I'm sure a softer All season tire would be quieter and more comfortable then the summer spec kuhmo's.

not hating on the Civic, as it's a great car for what it's designed to do...

but the Evo is a far superior handling car, with much more power, designed to be driven much more aggressively. in fact, there is no point in buying one unless you intend to drive the hell out of it...and if you're gonna drive the hell out of it, you will be well served by a good, sticky set of high performance tires.

anything you modify the suspension on should have sticky rubber otherwise what's the point ?
anything that rides like a go cart (no suspension) from the factory should also have sticky rubber otherwise what's the point.

If you're going to torture yourself with a hardcore car ride you might as well get the hardcore care handling.

That being said it looks like the evo x may need some comfy michelin tires... and not even ones from the pilot series

my 7 was stiff as hell when I daily drove it and I'm sure it was as bad or worse than an Evo, but it didn't bother me that much at the time. You get used to whatever you have I think, or at least I do... of course now I am used to a Q45 so everything feels stiff to me.
