If you are only basing it on the number of NCs, then Yale is the best college football team.

you have no fucking clue what you're talking about,
you obviously never really gave a shit about college basketball growing up

Carolina has been to far more NCAA tournaments than Kentucky and UCLA (they still hold the record with 27 in a row)

Carolina has 16 final fours, UCLA 17 (but thats just because UCLA in the late 60's, early 70's was the only west coast team really worth a shit, and all the highly recruited talent out there obviously wanted to go to college in Los Angelas, it was a monopoly)

Carolina has the most alumni in the NBA greatest 50 of alltime

If that was an impressive statistic then everyone here would have been completely content with Herb.

Excuses don't count for much in college sports.

Not that that matters at all, but you're still wrong.

UNC has 3
Houston has 3
LSU has 3

Are they among the greatest programs of all time?

holler back when UNC wins 88 consecutive games like UCLA did

Hahaha! If you're talking cricket, it would be Australia (1995-present) or the West Indies (70s-80s).

I'd say Australia - 3 consecutive World Cup wins (they have about a 20 match unbeaten streak as of now in the World Cup)

As much as I dislike them, how about Real Madrid?

30 Spanish league titles, 9 European Cup/Champions League wins.

Both Gable and Sanderson wrestled for the Iowa State Cyclones. Gable later went on to coach the University of Iowa Hawkeyes.

Kentucky has the best tradition and best basketball program of all time, ow if you want to say the best program to have never been on probation, then yes, it's UNC...I think Kentucky under Rupp went like 10 years without losing at home in the 40s and 50's

i would reluctantly agree with kentucky. hard to argue with those national championships and the all times wins, but its pretty close, and should get even closer if they continue to lose to schools like UAB

no

cameron, bradley, bubas, and whoever the coach between cameron and bradley was, won a ton of southern conference and acc championships

and bubas took them to two or three final fours in the sixties

they weren't ucla, carolina, kentucky, kansas, or even state, but they certainly had some good teams

My point is that if you drew a given year out of a hat for UCLA, UNC, Kentucky, or Duke then Carolina would have a better chance of having the better team

Like I said earlier, UCLA, Kentucky and Duke all had SEVERAL years when they were below average.
UNC has had ONE
