ok beth seriously the only way you can do this is if you connect to the internet and send the files over aim or get a flash drive...thats pretty much literally all you can do

unless you can figure out how to burn a dvd

copying just the folder worked back in the earlier days of DOS, but that's about it.

use the flash drive. problem solved. you WILL need an office CD to reinstall everything.

and most likely, she needs to competely rebuild her computer if she wants it to run reliably. that means restore disk and/or reformat. so she WILL need an office cd.

have you ever successfully done that? I'm not sure if the new office has an anti-piracy "please insert the original cd" thing or not

dnl how are you so confident that she has a 1.2gb .rar or whatever kind of office file and that she's not talking about the filesize of her \program files\microsoft office directory?

i've got a copy of office 07 thats like 500mb

^ she never mentioned she happened to have CD images of the install discs. she wouldn't even know that that's what you would normally need.

on the phone with who? we told you how to do it

another thing you could try is to see if dh hill has usb drives you can use(they have headphones, boardgames, and laptops...why not usb drives)...anyway then you move the file from your laptop to the usb drive, then go to the unity lab and burn it to a dvd...the unity lab computers have a dvd burner now

OK so she has the setup file

it'll still be useless if you predict her exe-cracking know-how from her "safe mode with networking" know-how

I am trying to undo the system restore from yesterday so I can at least open in regular mode without the blue screen. We'll see what happens. If not, I'm going to best buy for a drive. Thanks for the help!

instead of trying to do this shit yourself, offer someone 20 bucks and a 12 pack to come by and fix it for you. It's apparent you don't know what the hell you're doing.

I would have gladly had someone come to my house and fix it for me IF I WAS IN RALEIGH! (I clearly said on page 1 that I am not in Raleigh - READ THE THREAD!)

I would have paid someone if they had came to my house also. I just never made the offer because I am not in Raleigh.

I called a friend of my Mom's who had a computer that crashed once. She told me that there was an option to undo the restore from yesterday. All this time I have not been posting, I have been talking to her and BURNING MY 1 CD OF PAPERS, AND 1 CD OF PICTURES! She is sending me a burnable DVD because I have a DVD burner, and I can fit the Office '07 on there.

Those of you acting like elitist assholes, all you are doing as looking like even more of an douchewad for being pricks about it when I also clearly said that I don't really know what the hell I am doing. Either way, once I got the system restore undone, I did the rest pretty much ON MY OWN!

So Thanks a bunch to those of you who offered help! I would have gone to Best Buy and bought a drive if I had to (thanks to your suggestions), but I am just glad that I didn't do something so unnecessary and got it all worked out!
