-Laser, read the 'I am Legend' thread in the Entertainment section if you want to know the flavor of the ending. Its a decent ending, even if it does have a little too much of the religion stuff for my taste.

The meaning of 'I am Legend' in this movie is definitely a LOT different than the book.

what is so important about this dog? i saw maybe 2 commercials for this movie before it came out(preview probably came on channels i dont watch, which is why i didnt see it much)...like everyones like OMG I DIDNT GET TO SEE IT YOU PRICK...wtf...is the dog even in the preview? all i remember is seeing will smith and then like a caption with like "what if you are the last person on earth" or some shit

i guess... i'm just curious cause honestly i didnt even know a dog was in this movie and i "kinda" wanted to see it


now that i know a dog is in it and it dies i mean i still want to see it...i've never been one of those "OMG DONT TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED PEOPLE"...more of a "hey what happens in this movie" kinda people....also...the movie has like vampires in it or some shit...which is way worse than a dog dying

I concur. I'm just glad I saw this earlier yesterday before coming in here. I would have been pissed as hell otherwise. At least post a spoilers warning as the thread title or be creative. This thread isn't funny, it's just fucked up. This is one of those movies that a lot of people have been looking forward to for a while, I know I was. I usually don't go see movies much anymore and this is the first one I'd seen in about 5 months.

^ The way the dog is portrayed in this movie, it's just tragic when he dies. I'm not usually a guy that gets that emotional but I was feeling it when it happened. You just have to see the movie to understand. It's weird though. I saw it coming, the dog dying, but when it happened I was just like, aw damn... and then what happens later to the dog. Damn man, it made me miss my dog at home.

I think the dog dying was kind of predictable (not that it took away from the scene anyway). I think someone in the I Am Legend thread in Entertainment a few months ago said something like "I'm gonna be pissed when the dog dies"

The dog was a she btw, her full name name was Samantha.


SPOILER (for those who want to know, this is how the dog dies. Don't read if you don't wanna know):
















Will Smith is attacked by three zombie dogs after he gets caught in a trap by the zombies. He is injured so he can't run back to his car and get his handgun. The three zombie dogs are running towards him and his dog, he gets his handgun in time to shoot one of the dogs but one of them jumps on him and one attacks his dog. He is wrestling around with one of the zombie dogs and it is about to pretty much tear his face off but then his dog jumps and knocks it off. He is able to shoot the zombie dog but not before his own dog gets bitten. He takes her back to his lab and tries to cure her but it doesn't work. As he is cradling her, her eyes turn red and she tries to attack him. He ends up strangling her. It is a pretty emotional scene.

It was alright. The weekend numbers were way to high for such a mediocre movie. If it wasn't for Will Smith, this movie would have shit ratings. I wouldn't pay 7.25 to see it again. Probably wouldn't buy the DVD either.

The movie is definitely worth seeing at least. It is not nearly as good as it could have been, but it is very TENSE throughout and I did enjoy watching it. Better than most you could have seen this year.
