we talk about how bad our defense is. and certainly our rebounding has been very bad in most games. but we hold our opponents' effective fg % to 42.2% which is 13th best in the NCAA.

This whole statement is fucking retarded. Sendek took us to the ACC Tournament finals like 3 times (including his first year), and yet we still didn't even make it to the NCAA until his 6th year. This is to illustrate that making the ACC tourney finals doesnt mean shit, especially if you don't end up making the NCAA tourney. If we make it to the Big Dance then I'll have no complaints, but it's going to be very difficult with 2 BAD losses in non conference play. It means that we will have to win at least 8 conference games (or the ACC tourney) to get in, and the way we are playing right now we would be lucky to win 5.

Plus, there's always the chance you could win...which is one of the two ways to get in.

am i the only one that thinks winning the regular season is more important than winning the ACC tourny? I mean i LOVE the ACC tournament.. it's one of my favorite times of the year, but I would take winning the ACC regular season any day over the tourny. Either way you're going to the big dance, but if you won the ACC regular season, you're gonna be a top 3 seed

going .500 in the acc will most likely be 6th, 7th, or 8th place

if state is 6th, 7th, or 8th place in the acc with little to no run in the acc tourney, we will be one of those teams with their bubble burst come selection sunday... ALL because the UNO and ECU loss

I don't really see how the ACC Tournament is more "meaningful" than the regular season except in an emotional sense.

These days, if you win the regular season, you're basically guaranteed to go to the dance, just like the tourney champ. (It's not an official guarantee, but when's the last time the regular-season champ didn't get a bid?)

I honestly think we have the talent and are capable of winning the acc regular season this year

We played absolutly horrible those two games, three if you count mich. st., but we did lose them, and for that we are the worst team in the acc right now

We will get better, there's no doubt in my mind, just depends on how quick that can happen, it took 20+ games last year
