all immigration talk is complete bull shit anyway.
You're not going to be able to send people back to Mexico and have them file an application for citizenship. 1/20/2008 4:22:59 AM |

yeah thats what i dont get about the whole immigration thing....i mean i can understand the repubs not liking illegal immigration but they cant seem to comprehend that you cant just gather up 12 million people and put them on the other side of a border...that is not realistic or feasable and would cost way more fucking taxpayer dollars than a lot of people would be willing to give 1/20/2008 5:11:15 AM |

It's not an issue plain and simple.
It's an expendable topic that the Republicans bring up repeatedly just to have something to talk and bicker about. The president makes decisions that impact American jobs, but the influence is over ratted and immigration is a point where little where change and what the president does is a very small part of the picture. In other words, perfect distraction. 1/20/2008 5:19:07 AM |

If illegal immigration isn't an issue, why is McCain lying about his record? He now says he didn't sponsor an amnesty bill and he takes offense at the notion. Last week he was airing radio ads here in Charlotte. Seal the borders, send em to the back of the line, etc etc. Same story with Huckabee. Flip/flop. 1/20/2008 3:40:50 PM |

I cant believe mccain is in this thing. The election will come down to Clinton or McCain. So you have your choice of two liberal democrates, just one is running under the republican ticket. We are fucked.
Id vote for any other republican before mccain. 1/20/2008 7:38:16 PM |

Indeed, in a McCain/HRC election I'd be very tempted to stay home. I'm not sure how the nomination process works though, if as candidates pull out they can consolidate votes then it might strengthen one of the more conservative candidates to take down McCain. Clearly he will not win if there are less choices, it seems to me the trouble is that the opposition is split between Huckabee/Thompson and Romney, I'd guess most of the supporters of any of these three would sooner support one of these three than McCain.
I guess by the time we vote there may be a few candidates who opt out.
On the other hand, if the races continue to stay tight it could be complicated all the way up until the convention.
The is a silver lining to this election though, Edwards at 4% 1/20/2008 7:57:58 PM |
