yeah i think so, to some extent. they're likely talking about something actually visible on the bill, and not extracted from a sample
i think they're referring to narcotic in the heroin sense, mainly because of the packaging they say they found along with it. apparantly he did have an opiate dependency at one point in his life, and lots of borderline heroin junkies snort it because they have this false sense that they're not addicts if they don't shoot it.
heroin is much more commonly found in small "packets" like that (1.5cm squares) as opposed to stuff like cocaine. plus they actually call them packets when heroin is sold to the end user. i dont think ive ever heard of cocaine packets outside something like a kilo.
aaaand, heroin and benzos (valium, xanax, klonopin, ativan, etc) are a pretty well known killer combos. thats a whole lot of depressed respiration at once, and they potentiate each other
that would suck if he relapsed. opiates are the most evil of all the drugs

I'll agree with jacklegs theory. I had a friend who died recently of methodone/ xanax OD. lots of people use xanax as "landing gear" with something else to counteract the effects and it ends up killing them. 1/23/2008 7:13:28 PM |

yep, using benzos to potentiate different types of opiates is really really dangerous, especially if the medicines are not prescribed to the user

"Mr. Heath Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine," the office said in a short statement.

I had an ambien trip once when I was prescribed it. I remember sitting at the computer and my keyboard was made of bones and I kept seeing a wizard in my peripheral vision and he would dissapear whenever I looked at him. It wasnt bad though, as in I wasnt freaking out, but I dunno.
As far as opioids and benzos though I know once I was in the hospital getting an MRI and they gave me a morphine injection for the pain and 1 or 2 mg xanax for claustrophobia, I dont remember the MRI at all but it turned out fine, and the way you all are talking about that combo is making me surprised they gave me that combo. 2/7/2008 12:44:02 AM |
