Haven't and do not intend to read the whole thread, but I used Chantix the last time I tried to quit. I know it sounds bad, since obviously I didn't succeed in quitting, but bear in mind that I quit the treatment about halfway through the normal recommended course of about three months.
For the time that I actually took the stuff, it seemed to work quite well. My desire to smoke was down, and on the rare occasions that I did smoke, it did so little for me that my desire to try again was very little.
Overall, I recommend it, but definitely follow your doctor's instructions and thereby avoid reverting.

I've heard Chantix has about a 50% success rate, which puts it well above most other stop-smoking treatments. It is non-nicotine based, but although insurance covered it when I got on it a few months ago, it still cost me about $100 a month out of pocket.

It's amazing that there are so many products out there to help you quit smoking. I mean with all that's out there, why would anyone give cigs a try for the first time?
