you want to see a man crush, look at how Packers fans view Favre...look at how Pats fans view Brady

speaking of man crushes, D-Wade finally got Sir Charles to add him to his Five! Be careful what you wish for Dwayne!!

I dont see how it is gay. Most adults our age didn't grow up with an NFL franchise in the area. When one of our players makes it big time, you want to root for them.

wat

19/34, 255 yards, 2 TD/1 INT? Hmmm...nope, doesn't suck.

He didn't suck, but he threw up a lot of jump balls. His recievers just happen to be very good at snagging jump balls, as well as pushing off.

How they didn't call that one push-off in the first half is beyond me. The guy gave his defender a stiff-arm to the face right before the ball arrived.

Oh, I won't argue that, Toomer definitely gave him a nice shot to the face mask. But he did make a beautiful catch immediately afterward.

Imagine how bad the Giants would have sucked last night if Rivers was the QB

All you people defending it are the ones with man crushes!

I mean, I get you like Phil Rivers, but c'mon. You don't live in San Diego, it's just a little weird

i think about 80% of the people i talk to about football here in NC, the NFL team they root for mainly is not the panthers. meaning they are falcons or cowboys or packers or redskins fans etc etc. most of them not even from the areas of the teams they support. so i fail to see how that is a little weird.

and for the record i havent defended phillip in this thread at all. i think the thread is pointless and there is no use in comparing them at all. i just felt like a few of these comments didnt make any sense.

^^like you've got any room to talk douchebag

you are the king of fucktardation when it comes to this subject

I don't have anything against Phil either. I just think all the grown men in this city that decide who they root for because the QB went to their school is a little strange. If that's how you choose who you root for in the NFL then you probably weren't a fan to begin with

^well then maybe you get a pass. it's not like you don't know what the fuck I'm talking about

I pull for the Panthers first, as well as the chargers, rams, texans, etc. I just like to see other represented by wolfpack alumni do well. A large number of wolfpack fans tend to do the same thing. This is a fanbase that has historically been dominated by college basketball, and in recent years college football. A lot more wolfpack alumni are playing pro ball these days, and the NFL is new to a lot of us. I didn't start following pro football till 2000. I don't think i could ever follow the NBA though. It fucking blows. The NFL is at least entertaining.

Besides, how does one dictate where pro sports loyalties lie? Simple geography? What if you move? Questioning pro sports loyalties is like questioning someone's loyalty to a brand of shoes. it's fucking stupid.

^^^ what? do you even think before you type? that made no sense... me liking or not liking PEYTON Manning has nothing to do with this thread, or to do with the comment I made stating that people on here wont like that those two guys dissed PR.

I didnt even state if I think it is or isn't dumb for people in NC to support SD (I don't for the record) so "like you have any room to talk" makes no sense since I didnt even make a statement to begin with you fucking dumb bitch. God damn you are dumb son of a bitch.

holy shit, I dont care if someone disagrees me with but I cannot stand fucking idiots and their retarded leaps of logic

^^Listen, you can root for whoever, I just said that a lot of guys in this town have a man crush on phil rivers and root for the chargers because they love phil so much. I think that's weird. I know a bunch of other people who do as well. If you think that's normal, then you are obviously one of the guys with a man crush, plain and simple. It's not uncommon to like a guy and be a fan of his, but I'm not rooting for the fucking chargers because of Phil. I hope he does well, but who fucking cares about the Chargers if you have no prior loyalty to them? And I'm from Cleveland and still root for the Browns. What does moving have to do with anything? If I moved to Pittsburgh I wouldn't root for the Steelers.

they're all motivated by pro dollars

but acting like college sports are less money driven than pro sports is dumb...ever been to vegas? vegas makes pro AND college sports happen

if you think college sports are less money driven than pro sports, go into a Vegas sportsbook during March Madness...or better yet, go to any office in America during March Madness and try to find one that DOESN'T have a bracket pool

I have to agree with some of the argument here about us liking the Chargers.

I mean if Jaybee1200 pulled for every team with a UT player, he would like all of them.

Basically.

And like BobbyDigital pointed out, pro sports loyalty is a funny thing to question.

I mean, I've been a Falcons fan since I was a kid. And they're still my team and all, but I'd have totally given up on watching the NFL this year if I couldn't have followed Rivers, etc.

you made some stupid ass trite comment like that just to stir the pot

and if you thought mrlebowski's comments were dissing PR and not the State fans who like SD because PR is there, then it's really not me who needs to be worried about being a dumb fuck

^^ good thing I used ^ AND ^^ and not just ^ to show that I was not JUST talking about mrlebowski's comment, and mrlebowski edited his comment after I posted my response... and my comment wasn't trite at all and I still did not make a comment that would lead to someone logically saying "like you have room to talk" or whatever the fuck your retarded dumb ass said...

stupid stupid bastard.

Rivers is prob the 9th or 10th best QB in the NFL so leave him alone. Plus he's not mature enough not to avoid an exchange with a drunk fan in the stands.

Rivers = Loser
