I hope Javi gets another half court alley oop to Fells.. hell maybe we could let Ferguson try to catch one and put it down. That shit would be so funny.

If we want to be a lock for the NCAA, having 20 wins in regular season will help out a lot. (last year we had 15 wins in regular season, 3 in ACC, and 2 in NIT to total 20 wins).

If we are to have 20 in the regular season, we must win...20-14=6.... 6 more.
We still have:
VT, MD, BC, Clem, UNC, UVA, Fl St., Duke, WF.

So where are our 6 wins?
Most likely L's: Duke, UNC (2)
Most likely W's: WF, Fl St., UVA, BC (4)
Key Games: Clem, MD, VT (3)

I can see us finishing with a 19-11 record, and 8-8 in ACC
That will make us an inside bubble i think... but a few ACC tourny wins will help

i dont see whats wrong with being optimistic based on javi's improvement, the 3s dropping, more effort, and the fact that we went into cameron and push 5 duke players and 3 refs for 20 minutes.

Oh , don't get me wrong, I think this is a very winnable game for us. On top that, it's a must win game for us looking at the rest of our schedule. We can only afford 3 more losses and we still have to play Duke, UNC, and Clemson again. However, all the "this when we start winning by 10" talk is jumping the gun just a wee bit. Let's see us play a full 40 minutes of good offense/defense first.

Quote :
"As each committee member does in March, Clark and I must arrive in Indianapolis with our first ballot in the process. We are to select no more than 34 teams -- and presumably fewer -- who should be in the tournament based on play through Feb. 6. We can then nominate an unlimited number of additional teams for at-large consideration. In other words, we need to separate the "locks" from the "possibles".

Should Be In (19): Memphis, Duke, Kansas, North Carolina, UCLA, Tennessee, Georgetown, Wisconsin, Stanford, Xavier, Kansas State, Drake, Michigan State, Texas, Connecticut, Indiana, Arizona, Washington State, Marquette.

Considered For At-Large (47): Notre Dame, Baylor, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Gonzaga, Purdue, Mississippi State, Mississippi, Florida, Southern California, Clemson, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Ohio State, Dayton, Syracuse, UNLV, BYU, Saint Joseph's, West Virginia, George Mason, Ohio, South Alabama, Kent State, Davidson, Oral Roberts, VCU, Massachusetts, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Oregon, Seton Hall, Illinois State, Arizona State, California, San Diego State, North Carolina State, Akron, Boston College, Miami, Houston, UAB, Charlotte, Western Kentucky. very realistic though
7-9 is more likely
8-8 would be nice
9-7 would be a stretch

The three games we won could have gone either way, the 4 games we lost were pretty one sided (except for ga. tech)

in case you haven't noticed, with the exception of Duke and UNC, the whole rest of the conference is 'bottom feeders'...although I'd call them all "middle of the road" teams

^^I think the only locks for the tourney so far are Duke and UNC...I think at least 2-3 more teams will make it, if not a 4th, and State has as good a chance as anybody else to make it...iirc, ASIDE from dook and uncgay, only one other team in the conference has less losses than us

tonight's game is on ESPNU and the next is on Raycom...you should at least be able to find the ESPNU game at a bar or something

what city are you living in now MLE?

heres a quick link to our schedule for this thread http://www.gopack.com/SportSelect.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=9200&KEY=&SPID=3731&SPSID=41961

^i think every game has packpass / accselect audio, but since all remaining games are conference, i'm pretty sure they're all Raycom/ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU...at least you should be able to watch them all from raleigh or charlotte

Assuming this jumbled mess is accurate, we are the only team of the "bottom feeders" that actually plays both UNC and Duke twice. If so that is bullshit even though I prefer to play them twice just because that is how it should be. We get screwed in both football by never playing Duke and in basketball by playing both big dogs twice. Fuck that...

yeah i'd love to get rid of a few cupcakes from everybody's schedule and play home-and-homes with all 11 other teams...i'm pretty sure some conferences do that, or at least do it better than the ACC

^^ I think you are right. I think the ACC should try the format that the Big Least is going to with 18 conference games. That would allow two games against all teams except 4 each year. Still not perfect, but better than the just 16.
