man, you don't go that long without talking to an employer. Regardless of how busy you are. They'll write your shit off.

You got fired. You're going to be a better person for it. It's in no way a big deal.

that's a nasty email and it's pretty fuckin weak to say somethin like that over an email and not respond to your messages.

I'm really dissapointed to see Cary EMS drop evan even tho he probably has more passion for the job than anyone else there.

their shit's weak, man. sometimes you gotta just let things slide for the better, they obviously don't know that.

yeah concentrate on your school work or whatever else you got going on and reapply in the summer when you'll have all the time in the world. No need to get 'anxiety' over this. This is probably for the best, it'll give you a chance to diversify your resume instead of working at the same place forever.

How the fuck are you suppose to know the passion of the other EMS workers?? I'd guess that most EMS workers have a good deal of passion for what they do.

And evan barely worked there. It sounds like he was being more of a hinderance than help or they wouldn't have gotten rid of him. You don't get fired because you're a valuable employee.

you obviously have no idea what you're talking about, and frankly it's pissin me off that you're tryin to talk about somethin when you CLEARLY haven't the slightest clue as to what is really going on.

why don't you just keep your mouth shut when you don't know the half of it? i seriously don't know why people do this.

With the amount of work evan has going on between school, accapella, his condition, hockey med volunteer, countless other shit i don't know about, it's amazing within itself that he even found the time to volunteer for Cary EMS.

evan don't listen to these assholes.

well i can safely say that none of the other employees had nearly as much shit as evan had going on. and remember that evan WAS A FUCKING VOLUNTEER, IT'S NOT HIS GOD DAMN CAREER.

because it really did mean a lot to me. apparently you guys don't understand. you don't have to get paid to love doing something.

my email response:

Quote :
"honestly, i don't know what to say... even though this was completely my own fault, i'm really upset and distraught over it...

i'm sorry for wasting your time and the effort you put in to my advancement. for what it's worth, i really enjoyed working with you and have thought a lot of you (both as a person and a medic) ever since I met you during the first clinical shift I ever rode.

i wish things could have been different, but what's done is done. i understand that you are all busy as well - i wasn't denying that. i've spread myself too thin. it's very unfortunate, but i guess it took something as bad as this to make me realize it.

i'll consider reapplying in august only if i've gotten my life and medical problems under control. the last thing i want to do is waste everyone's time again. i understand that it won't be easy - i'm pretty sure that i've lost the respect of almost everyone there.

i've got all my uniform pieces ready to return, although i left my hat on a truck a couple of months ago by mistake and haven't been able to find it since. when are you working next? if you're there now, i can come tonight to drop them off.

thanks again for the opportunity, and i can't apologize enough for wasting it. i really hope i'll see you again in august. things will be different - i promise.

Because it meant a whole fucking lot to him?

Just because you can't make time for something in the space of a month, especially something as demanding as EMS work, doesn't mean you don't value it.

there it is, that's the barrier between the people who understand what's going on and those who don't.

hey, all i know is that this guy apparently has absolutely no time to do this ems job, doesn't do it for a month and is now crying because he got fired. well what do you expect? people work at places so that they can, you know, do work.

dnl contributing negative value to a thread, what a gaping surprise.

evan, my circumstances were entirely different than yours, but I know what it's like to get let go of out of the blue. It's among one of the most worst feelings in the world. But cheer up, at least you'll get another shot in six months.
