i'll worry about how deep we can go in the NIT once we make the NIT
until the acc tourney is over, we still have a chance to go dancing 2/11/2008 12:02:34 PM |

^no doubt, i mean looking at the easy, predictable schedule for us ahead:
@ BC W 5-5 CLEM L 5-6 UNC L 5-7 @UVA W 6-7 FSU W 7-7 DUKE L 7-8 @WFU W 8-8 +tourney factors......very close
factor in that ACC play towards the end of the season never ends predictably. we will upset one of the big three and get beat by a scrubber...
But you really cant say that we look like an NCAA team now, even if we should be close. I will be at every home game waiting to see that happen if it does, will you? 2/11/2008 1:20:55 PM |

There's no way that we will go 3-0 on the road and 1-3 at home the rest of the way. Home-court advantage means something in the ACC... 2/11/2008 2:45:05 PM |

^^^At Wake is by no means an easy win. I know we won there last year but our record in Winston is not that great. Plus we beat them by a tip in dunk at the buzzer at home. 2/12/2008 2:12:04 AM |

Clemson (17-6, 5-4 ACC, 24 RPI) — looking good so far. 5. N.C. State (15-8, 4-5 ACC, 48 RPI) — very, very close (considered among "last four teams out" in most projections). 6. Miami (16-7, 3-6 ACC, 40 RPI) — on the bubble; with strong RPI, an 8-8 ACC record likely would be enough. 7. Virginia Tech (14-10, 5-5 ACC, 82 RPI) — remaining road schedule (UNC, Maryland, Clemson) a huge hurdle. 8. Wake Forest (14-8, 4-5 ACC, 92 RPI) — modest strength of schedule will require more high-value victories. 9-12. Everyone else probably will need at least a 9-7 ACC record to receive serious at-large consideration.

this is where losses to UNO and ECU kill us.
Part of me wants to say it would be bullshit if miami finished 8-8 and got in the NCAAT over us. The other part of me realizes they took care of business in their non-conference schedule and didn't lose to some bullshit teams. 2/14/2008 3:55:35 PM |

Miami will not get in with a losing ACC record.
Teams schedule's from here in will be big and of course ours is the hardest.

i think luckily for us, the ACC is generally such a good basketball conference, that you could make up for some bad OOC losses with a couple good conference wins...we don't really have any GREAT conference wins yet but we're in a good enough conference where I think conference record is more important when determining who goes dancing than OOC schedule/record...unless you played Kanses, Memphis, etc and beat some of them2/14/2008 5:05:47 PM |

This thread could be about the NIT tourney now although I don't think that we are going to make it.
I don't see another win on our schedule unless we get lucky against Singletary.
