They have already said they are working on two new guitar hero games, I guess that would be Aerosmith and 4 now. I have no problem with them making 4 - As long as it has a full load of new songs and maybe some new features. I would much prefer they make smaller song collections available for download of course.

Well it obviously doesn't take nearly as long as a conventional video game. It's not like they have to come up with a new physics engine or level design or even a plot. They pretty much just have to run it through whatever algorithm they use for assigning notes, amp up the graphics to whatever is standard these days, throw in a few unlockables and call it a day.

I don't get the hate for GH3. I agree that 1 and 2 were better in the areas of just getting better at playing and song selection but overall I loved gh3. Could be that 3 is a lot more challenging and people got frustrated with it but it was just as frustrating being able to play gh2 blindfolded and still 5 star everything.

I've also had no real complaints about GHIII. I've really enjoyed it so far, despite not being able to beat One and Raining Blood on expert -- the first time in any of the games I've been stumped on a song.

they are actual songs from the bands, although they may not be master tracks.

From what I understand, you will play the other bands' songs as like a warmup similar to the way opening acts perform. Then you will finish up playing the aerosmith songs, although that may have changed

Just played through the first 7-8 songs. It's definitely the same as GH3 with the ridiculously easy hammer-ons and pull-offs. There's no way I would have got through a song like "walk this way" in Rock Band, (at least not easily) but I never left the green area on this game.

Oh well, it's more songs for GH. I can't complain too much.

Well, if you're talking about hardware, yeah the controllers for GH are far better than the ones for Rock Band.

Thankfully you can use those controllers in Rock Band though.

I just beat it. I was rather disappointed overall. I only knew about half the songs from Aerosmith. I would have hoped that all their well known songs would have been in the game, but it just seemed like most of the time I was playing some song from 1974 that I had never heard before. None of the songs are particularly difficult. Even the ones that should have been hard didn't seem to be that difficult. I think they might have adjusted the window you have to hit the button to make it even easier. People that hated GH3 won't like this game one bit.

Oh well, I didn't pay for it, so I guess I can't complain too much.

The ending credit sequence is pretty nifty though.

I havent played it yet, but when I saw that Dream On was in tier 5, I figured it would be a really easy game. I downloaded dream on for gh3 and got 99% on expert on my first try. As a point of reference, most GH songs in the last 2 sets on expert are usually 3-4 stars for me.

my opinion on GH Aerosmith:

I've never liked aerosmith, but the wifey likes em, so we bought the game yesterday. I figured this would be a game i could buy without a bunch of guilt if we both want it.

anyways, i didn't like the game. it seemed as though all the songs were the same button sequences over and over and over again. we bought the aerosmith guitar, which does look pretty cool, and that has become the wifes axe. she even said as a aerosmith fan that she didn't like the song selection. oh well, just my take on it.
