You have to give it to the guy though. He definitely knows how to shoot a movie.

God, after watching this, Wahlberg's acting really does seem terrible.

This movie just looks so bizarre and hilariously awesome, i mean a guy throwing himself under a tractor, into a lions den, etc etc?

In that last clip, I dont think it was Wahlberg's acting that was all that bad...it was the way it was shot.

^ Once The Village broke apart and he was still trying to play the monsters we knew were fake for fucking suspense, I couldn't help it any more and was openly laughing in the theater. Two Indian guys turned around and said, "Could you please stop? You're ruining it for everyone."

Possible spoilers.

In the first trailer they talked about how they didn't know what was killing honey bees (Colony collapse disorder). From what I've read most bee farmers are blaming nicotine based pesticides on them flying away from the hive (losing navigation senses) and dying.

What I think is gonna be the twist in this is it's going to be some sort of biological terrorist attack or government experiment that prolly got out of hand.

end

It's a remake of a odd sci-fi book, can't think of the name anymore and wikipedia isn't helping. They are not releasing it to critics because everyone who has seen it so far says it sucks.

The basic story is "something is making people commit suicide, something all around us, something has changed and humans caused it to change" The "twist" is stupid.

oh, wow...I just read the review that gives the "twist."

******SPOILERS************

Quote :

It's plants that are responsible. They've decided to wipe out humanity and release the neuro-toxin as their natural weapon. This was far, far more clear in the script (and even the title "The Green Effect") and I'm really of the opinion that it's a pretty neat idea, though. What Shyamalan quickly finds, though, is that it's very, very hard to menacingly cut to an evil-looking tree. That doesn't stop him from trying, though, and he inexplicably adds wind as a way of livening up the scenes. When the leaves of a tree start to blow, evil's afoot. It's really, really hard not to laugh at and there's even a real groaner of a gag-scene wherein Wahlberg timidly apologizes to a houseplant only to find that it's made of rubber. Really.

Why are you assholes dropping spoilers in this thread. Just bc you read a review doesn't mean you have to run on tww and post the spoilers. Fuck a spoiler tag- this shit hasn't even dropped and you guys are nutting on each other about dropping spoilers and how lame the twist is.

He hasn't made a movie that's had big ROI in a long time, his last two movies had about $75m budget, and grossed around $100m. This one could be the one though, it's only around $50m budget, and going to have good distribution in India.

I'm going to stop reading this thread since yall are already dissecting a movie that hasn't been released yet, and trying to already blame him for another twist that doesn't live up to the sixth sense

be back after I see it

^You enjoyed Signs? Srsly?

To each his own, but the shear retardedness of deathly-allergic-to-water aliens invading a planet that is literally covered in the stuff was just too much for me to bare.

And Shymalongadingdong hasn't even been trying ever since The Village.

I liked Signs because of the suspense of the movie and the interactions, liked Sixth Sense because, well, I liked it.

But the spoilers says to me that this will be absolutely retarded. Lol, the twist was spoiled on the 5th reply.

the ending was OK, but it had probably one of the worst scenes in all of movies
the scene where they're at the table and they're arguing and the son wants to shoot the dad to prove he's unbreakable

that was the worst drama i had ever seen, absolutely laughable
only topped by scenes from "Signs"
