they spent 30 bucks TOTAL, you dont count it separate as neither did the clerk at the desk

he gave them 5 dollars back TOTAL

the boy took 2 and he gave them back 3

3+2=5 the TOTAL amount the desk clerk gave back.
25 still at the front plus 5 TOTAL given back equals 30

thats so simple, theres nothing missing, its all there

they've spent $25 for the room, and get 1 dollar back each ($3 total ), and the ballboy keeps the last $2. $30 in total, for anyone who seriously didn't get it and wasn't trolling.
