Fergie can be up and down, but I would like to see him get more minutes.


I dont know how Sidney could leave in Marques today, he was the weakest link on our team by far and seemed to have more minutes than most players. He was like a walking turnover.

^^yeah but he hustled nonstop. even when he airballed a shot he would hustle back on D. unlike all our starters who stop and look to the ref waiting for a foul. ferguson should have been the first off the bench every time fells decides to check himself out of the game (which is a lot).

ok, well hustle only goes so far. if you're airballing a 3 from the corner when the closest person to you is in the paint, it doesn't matter how hard you're hustling, you're not cutting it as a 2.

Furthermore, teams would then start game planning for him. If I am an opposing coach, I just clear out and set a high pick for the man that trevor is guarding.



This is also the same game plan for any player in our back court.

once they started guarding him closer he was making some really nice passes to set up shots for the other guys. i think he's way better than marques, and deserves 15-20 minutes or so a game. especially at this point. it'd be awesome if he could gain some confidence here in the last few games of the season and then carry it over into next season and actually be a regular contributor for us.

I was there at the game last night and it was great to see Ferguson produce they way he did. You have to admit thought part of the reason he produced as well as he did was because FSU did not game plan for him. During the post game interview Leonard Hamilton gave Ferguson prob for stepping up the way he did and admitted that his team was not prepared to handle him or Tracy Smith playing the way he did. I hope Ferguson can keep this up and continues to hustle the way he did last night.

I am in favor of just letting Smith, Fergie, and Harris all play significant minutes just to see if they can make a difference. Obviously playing our current rotation of lazy crybabies isn't getting it done so there is nothing to lose.

Honestly what the fuck is the difference if Johnson, Fells, and Costner ride the pine and Fergie, Smith, and Harris are playing? We are going to lose in embarrassing fashion either way.

I decided today that bringing Ferg off the bench might be the best thing for team. It seemed that when the Duke would start making runs early in each half, we'd bring in Ferguson to settle everyone down. Never thought I'd see that happen. I never thought I'd actually rather see him on the court than Fells ...

Whether he starts or not, the guy needs to be getting major minutes from here on out. He's a playmaker, plain and simple.

He also seems incredibly relaxed bringing the ball up the court, something he was once accused of not being able to do. He's arguably a better ballhandler than Javi and miles ahead of anyone else on the team.

He's not a better ballhandler than Javi...but other than Javi...I'd rather have the ball in Ferguson's hands than any other guard on our team.

Fells and Grant are adequate ballhandlers, but just seem to make terrible decisions with the ball. Johnson is just plain horrible. Fergie is a solid ballhandler and seem to be pretty smart with the ball.

agreed. I couldnt believe it when I started yelling for ferg to be put back in the game every time MJ was pussing around with the ball like he does.

agreed. fergie and javi were runnin the offense pretty well. i loved that stretch where mccauley kicked it out to fergie for 3, and then one play later kicked it out to gavin who fed javi for 3. that was awesome.

trevor did a lot more for us today than what you'll see on the stat sheet. he can really work the ball around well. makes a lot of passes that lead to assists, and he's good at feeding the ball inside. i think ben must love him after today, between fergie and javi getting it to him ben was lighting up the scoreboard.

Of course, some of those positions are interchangable.

we are almost guaranteed to have solid guardplay next year regardless if a starter gets hurt most of the season for the 4th consecutive year.

1.javi and degand with mays. wide open
2.fells then furg maybe with mays
3.thomas? williams? fells? costner? then horner
4.hopefully 07costner then smith
5.ben and hickson wide open

would be nice to see maybe 2 pgs at a time sometimes since we have 3. 4 including johnson who should quit.

cosnter is the real question for next year. if he is like he was in 07 we will be top 3 acc. we won't really miss grant.
