^^yeah i mean if you look at "Beatles One", most of thier hits are simple, straight to the point, and you can sing along really easily. Then you look at the less popular stuff like SGT. Peppers (probably my favorite beatles cd) and it starts to move away from those simple melodic patterns and get more complex.

^haha i only said that cause i started a "Skins" thread in entertainment and no one posted anything. So i just made the assumption no ones seen the show yet. It's really popular in the UK i dont see why people here haven't seen it yet.

I mean can you prove me wrong? Anyone seen it?

I think for me at least, most bands' songs sound the same when I first listen to them because it's the band's "sound". Now, there really are some bands who sound the same every goddamn song, but like someone else pointed out, all the classic Rock bands usually have very similar sounding songs.

i'm not sure what "indie groups" the user was referring to, but i don't think Sigur Rós has similar sounding songs. well, that's just in my opinion, could be because i listen to them a lot. but i do agree that a lot of other "indie" bands I listen to have very similar sounding songs (The New Pornographers, Rilo Kiley, Death Cab, Interpol, etc).

i think we should start a North Carolina State University Sigur Ros (And Alter Bridge) Fans Subculture Club (N.C.S.U.S.R.(A.A.B)F.S.C., for short)

without one, this school is really lacking

yeah i heard about that....saw some of it on there...but a friend of mine had it and was watching it on his 42" flat screen. it was amazing. of course i had to go and could only catch a bit of it. just seems so much more epic on the big screen....like that is how they meant there music to be seen + heard
