^ Dude. Both Sublime and the Stone Temple Pilots have been disbanded for years (though wikipedia says STP has a reunion tour this year). And the Pixies were also disbanded for the greater part of these kids lives.

And plus Ryan Adams is still going strong, getting his dick sucked by Elton John and Adam Duritz from the Counting Crows (they got it on tape in an unedited version of the video for "Answering Bell").

STFU N00b. j/k.

Yah, he does seem like a total prick. I heard someone hollared "play Summer of '69" at one of his concerts (joking on the fact his name is similar to Bryan Adams) and Adams jerked the guy up on stage, gave him enough money to cover his ticket, and told him to leave.

But pricks can make good music too. Look at Bob Dylan.

I'm so envious of my parents who grew up listening to really great music and can describe how many memories are associated with that music playing on the radio etc.

Popular music of my "youth," fucking stupid music that consists of nothing but product references and fucking women."

SPOT ON.

I do not claim today's "music" as the story of my youth. I don't think I even own an album that was made after 1989.

"What blows my mind is that a bunch of college-radio loving Raleigh dwellers have went nearly 50 posts without mentioning WhiskeyTown. I mean shit, it's this town's biggest contribution to the Alt. Country "movement"."

"Stranger's Almanac" Deluxe Edition came out today

And I actually will probably be nostalgic about Whiskeytown and Ryan Adams. Also the grunge-era. But I kinda grew up on the line between grunge and tween pop.
