y0, i dont know what all the hustle is about.
yeah, wrestlers obviously have an advantage over someone who has no experience.
im not clowing wrestlers at all, they arent the first ones i would just walk up to and crack a joke.
hell, these guys could have very easily just handed me my butt for no real reason, and thats why im clowning them. is because at the end of the day, ill probably be in the hospital, and they will be back at home with no more school and life.
just more beating people up. 3/3/2008 12:51:44 AM |

I'm not a wrestler but i do enjoy trying to learn it. And yes, weight can make a huge difference in a fight. You must be a newb to real fighting if you don't understand that. I'm not talking about drunken bar room brawls. 3/3/2008 12:55:56 AM |

Unorganized fights are a completely different world from organized fights. I'm trying to get 9one9 to understand that in an organized fight he would probably get stomped by a good wrestler.

Can I join the party, too? I have a lot of respect for the physical talents of wrestlers. They are certainly incredibly well-conditioned, and have a lot of knowledge that applies in certain situations. Wrestlers are great at beating up other wrestlers. When you are fighting the untrained, it is a completely different fight. They don't know how to fight, and that means that if someone who has no physical training is psychologically pushed to the point where they are going to do something they are not trained to do, they will do ANYTHING. The unpredictability can lead to even a highly trained individual getting hurt. Plus, I'm not surprised that something like this would happen with wrestlers. In wrestling, you get a great education for fighting, but absolutely no moral or spiritual guidance along with that training. The coach is just a coach, not a true leader of his students (unless you have a really good program). For wrestlers, this means that they do not really repsect fighting and the skills that they have, which leads to a lot more attempts to start fights, instead of trying every tactic to ensure that a fight doesn't happen. 3/3/2008 1:09:42 AM |

why baseball players anyway? I know they're usually fucktards, but they don't really fit the picture of highly trained individual. 3/3/2008 1:13:52 AM |

Or it can lead to the untrained individual getting slammed on his ass and the wind knocked out of him. Oh yeah and wrestlers know how to fight dirty to.
I do agree some people who train to fight/wrestle walk around picking fights just to prove a point but those are just douche bags not representing the sport well.

one of these is not like the other...two are trained for fighting, one is trained to swing a bat at a ball, stand around, and run sometimes. just kinda odd yet usually true

its funny, MMA fighters and their fans (usually people also training MMA) are real nice. they are like upper class wrestlers. you walk next to them trying not to touch them, but when you do they are all apologetic like it was their fault. 3/3/2008 1:20:28 AM |

Hey now, I know a few former college baseball players that have their act together. One is now an officer in the army, so I guess he meets two of your stereotypes. One is a AAA minor leaguer, now.
Then again, I lived near some of the NCSU baseball team members, and they were generally shady and met your stereotype...

Baseball players like to fight because they have nothing to do most of the time, and drink a lot. If they show up hungover to practice, it doesn't matter, you can have a shitty BP or whatever and just chalk it up to "one of those days." I would imagine that football players or wrestlers get their asses handed to them by either other players, or a coach if performance lacks for a couple days a week.
I only remember being in about 3 fights in my days at App, but they were for good reasons (neighbor got raped or some shit, and um...like, football players talkin shit because they were good at their sport and we sucked?) But I would say we drank more often than any other sports team, and maybe that has something to do with it. 3/3/2008 2:00:11 AM |

What? I never met a good wrestler that went around trying to start fights. My HS had a shitty program but I still learned a great deal of discipline from the coaches and we had a great deal of respect for what you could do to someone with the stuff we learned. If you wrestled for any amount of time you were pretty much forced to respect it. Seeing a few guys taken off the mat on a stretcher will learn you real quick.
And did you ever actually play a sport where you had a coach? Being a leader is part of coaching in every sport under the sun. Hell, in HS you have to guide some of your kids more off the court/mat/field than you do on it. You wouldn't believe the shit our coach had to help people through.3/3/2008 10:42:31 PM |

I remember the good ole days of NCSU, when the wrestlers used to get pissed off, break into people's houses, take the firearm out of the hands of the person they're assaulting, and shoot them to death. 3/3/2008 10:48:24 PM |
