turkey baster?....and how sure are you about the febreeze causing the spider deaths. It makes sense but it's the first time Ive heard of air freshener related deaths. <not questioning your judgment you know way more then about tarantulas then I ever will>

there aren't any vets for inverts, really. and their treatments are usually for wounds, not internal problems.

my best guess is that she suffered an injury while molting. obviously, she'll either recover or die. i'm doing everything i can to keep her going, so it's just up to her.

she's going back into a deathcurl. when you try to pick her up, she tremors slightly and then gives up. i put her back over the water, but i think this is the end of the line for my girl.

febreeze is bad for pets in general. i know we were told to avoid it with our birds (but that isn't hard because we hate the smell anyways)

we suspect that the new aerosol version of febreeze caused the random deaths in my collection. needless to say, we haven't used it in months. but we may still lose a few pets before things are back to normal. i think i've lost 10 or so in the last year, over half of them recently (related or unrelated to the febreeze).
