The sad thing is, that's a pretty common sentiment. Do you think anyone would have given a shit about Natalie Holloway if she wasn't an attractive white girl? The same goes for Brianna Denison in Nevada and Emily Sander in Kansas.

For me, I was pretty fucked up about the whole Emily Sander situation. In my mind I couldn't believe such a beautiful girl could get involved in such a fucked up situation; like being attractive has any indication of character. But that is how Hollywood/media has brainwashed our culture -- only ugly people are allowed to hang with the wrong crowds, and pretty people have excuses.

And this comes from someone who is a member of the working press.

I can agree with that at this point in our culture. But I certainly don't believe it is a mindset that has been in place since the dawn of time. I'm not a sociologist, so I don't claim any proof backed by research; but I just can't believe we've always been so fucked up.

Homeless people were not about to graduate college witha double major and actually contribute something useful to soceity. Forgive me if I think this girl is more important than some bum who sits on a street corner all day harrassing / begging people for money instead of trying to do something useful with their lives. Here's my take on the situation


1) I feel really bad for her family and friends, the loss of a dear one is a terrible experience. The absence of that love is truly heartbreaking.

2) Given the nature of the attack, multiple shots, bullet to the head, this was not a mugging or something random. Someone really wanted her gone.

3) Continuing that thought, very few people are willing to face a murder charge and conviction (especially in today's CSI world, evidence, hair, DNA is everywhere, they will catch you) unless they REALLY want someone dead. Perhaps she had it coming.
