i reread what i said and im not trying to hang scrumples out to dry. benzos definitely can present issues when you become dependent on them.
but honestly, its like "i have trouble falling asleep" versus "i wake up every hour and vomit". benzos are 99% mental. and thats the easy part. 3/13/2008 10:00:42 PM |

FREESTYLER If you think you're OCD but you're not sure you probably need to make sure to avoid a great deal of stress for the rest of your life or go see somebody about it, because in some people, it can definitely develop in this:
Quote : | "A guy I worked with took it for his OCD...he would freak out about getting diseases like herpes all the time...he wouldn't use anyone else's cups or eat out of anyone's plates. He had a meltdown one time at work and was out for a couple days. " |
And you really don't wanna go through anything like that. It develops over time and it's not easy to tell when it can escalate to get that bad...
and jackleg stop ghost editing. I was just making an example as to how drugs of the like are generally not pleasant to get off of. Your dick is bigger than mine, happy? :mad

i prefer good ole diazepam for the occasional ocd-related anxiety.

i'm also prescribed 90mg of adderall a day. my shrink really insists on me being medicated. but once again, i haven't been taking that either, and i haven't had the first problem. if i didnt have the history that i have, i'd likely take the stuff, and i still may in the future. i just dont think it fits in with a history of substance abuse. but she knows all about my history and still pushes it. so who knows.
the jury is out for a few more months i guess, then when i go back for another 6 month checkup i'm gonna decide. 3/13/2008 10:21:53 PM |

A lot of drugs like this can interfere with birth control and can have negative affects on reproduction. That's why docs differ between what to prescribe men and women.

i take 1mg if i'm having a bad day or if i have to present in front of a large enough audience to require a microphone, or if it's a customer or consultant that will likely be harassing me. i don't feel weird at that amount at all, just a little relaxed.
i take 1.5mg if i can't sleep... and it's the best sleep i ever get." |
that's about how much I take. Usually just need something to calm me down especially after being in front of large audiences or after being under a lot of stress. I have pretty bad test anxiety for example.3/13/2008 10:31:26 PM |

never had klonopin so i cant much comment on the difference. and jackleg why i gotta be a lady for taking valium (funny, my lady friend has klonopin...oh well).
to answer anyways though, i generally only take it when im in a panic attack style state. im heavily obsessive and it isnt good if im in a bad mental state. it calms that feeling down and just makes me not care all tha tmuch. still think about the same stuff, but it doesnt seem to bother/upset me anymore. kinda a meh mental mood without the negative aspects. i do get a bit short of breath and mildly tired (though i generally take it at night anyways).

withdrawal from heavy benzo abuse can be lethal, so the withdrawal isn't all mental. For the prescription doses being talked about in here though, you're right.3/14/2008 2:00:12 PM |
