We all know he gets calls (and gets away with shit) and he looks like a douche but to call him mediocre is just absurd.

I guess there are only a handful of us on here who seem to be able to look at things objectively... Oh well... I hope VPI can win this... heading up to Napa for the day and it would be nice to come back to a VPI-Clempson final.

I haven't read any of this thread...but my thoughts on Hansbrough...

- It fucking amazes me to witness the shit he throws up that goes in the basket. Fuck "touch" and "finesse"...because he throws some fucking line drives at the rim and backboard that somehow manage to go in. I've concluded that he's made a deal with the devil.

- He creates a lot of contact. I almost think that the refs are NOT calling as many fouls on the opposing defenders because they are finally realizing that he creates 75% of the unnecessary contact. It's starting to work a little against him.

- He does have a nose for the ball and is a ridiculously hard worker. That I will always give him credit for and its why he gets so many rebounds and loose balls.

- He still has a lot of travels that aren't called. Not as much as early in his career...but he still gets away with more than the average low post player.

- He will suck it up in the NBA Redick style. His game is perfectly suited for a college big man...but not the NBA (just like Redick). All his hardwork and hustle will mean nothing in the NBA when the rest of the guys are that much more athletic than him. And although his jumper is getting better, it takes too long to develop and he has no long extension or height on his jumper to get it over longer defenders. I think his ceiling could be a 12 ppg 6 rbg guy as a firt big man off the bench...which is not that bad. But I predict a 8 ppg 5 rbg career.

Hansbrough is not mediocre, he is one of the best players in the ACC. Arguably the best player in the ACC. My only argument is that he is not the best player in the nation. I think Beasley should win that hands down - he has more talent, better moves, a slight outside presence (making ~1/3 3 pt attempts), and an overall better statistical resume than Hansbrough.

Sadly, that BS shot he made today only helps him win NPOY. If only stupid dances would take away points from the NPOY considerations.

It was a wide open baseline jumper from 12-15 ft... nothing special. If you can't consistently make that shot, you shouldn't be on a college team.
