in my efforts to keep up with Joneses optmusprimer, my meccican truck has been pimped. since the fuckers peeled the tint off for some unknown reason before i had a chance to pick it up, i guess a trip to TVP is coming up

^^ Good observation, that video shows the problem well. For some reason they seem to have set this thing up in such a way to make powershifting difficult. I suspect it has something to do with the fact it has such bad wheel hop. If you do manage to shift, say 1-2 at redline it wants to grind bad. Thats with the stock shifter, the URD adapter kit, and even with the B&M shifter I have now. Actually the truck feels faster shifting 1000rpm or so before that (in the torque curve) but early shifting does not show off a roots blower all that well.

Running premium fuel consistantly = 17-19MPG

Switching to midgrade for one tank = 15.2MPG This was a noticable drop in fuel economy before even doing the math, and a very slight drop in performance (for instance, upshifting at 2500 gave more of a lugging feeling than normal) but as far as normal driving it didnt miss a beat.

Between the initial "break in" period, the time it took to get used to a new intake, and this I am led to believe the vvt-i ECU seems a little slow to adapt.

is there's something more complicated about it than a little plastic gear or a pulse ratio converter?

[Edited on July 19, 2008 at 12:56 AM. Reason : or machining the ring gear for the tone ring?]

[Edited on July 19, 2008 at 12:56 AM. Reason : dunno how/where they read from]
