Your ancestors came here of their own free-will. And they faced about as much discrimination as catholics, irish, itallians, etc did.

Blacks were drug here in chains. They were forcefully seperated from their families and communities. As a result, they lost most any cultural connection to Africa they once had (that's been changing gradually). Even after they were freed, most blacks did not have access to basic education. On top of that many states had laws which restricted their movements, essentially prevented them from voting, etc. These factors fed into creating a poverty trap that many blacks are still having trouble escaping.

Do not pretend that just because you are a minority that you can identify with the black community.

Yes, we whites get downright pissed off when you call our country and culture racist.

Look, we have a presidential candidate who mostly got away with using a racial slur for Asians. He apologized. The scandal blew over.

I strongly reject dismissing Asians as a privileged model minority. That's only part of the story. The US government has directly killed millions of East Asians in the past seventy years. As McCain comments demonstrate, many Americans currently consider racism against Asians no big deal.
