Lets see, 97 I was finishing 6th grade and starting 7th...

I was deep in baseball playing in tournaments almost every weekend. The weekends I wasn't away for baseball I was with my neighborhood friends playing pickup basketball, skateboarding, riding bikes, and doing a lot lot lot of stupid shit at night that could get me arrested now.

I grew my hair out into the skater-cut
Had way too many jnco jeans and punk rock t-shirts
Less Than Jake, MXPX, and Alkaline Trio filled my stereo


yeah, im pretty sure that was 97. My middle school years are kind of foggy, especially 6th and 7th grade. I may have them backwards.

Finishing Junior year and starting Senior year at Western Guilford High School. Did a lot of stuff with youth group. Traveled by air for the first time since I was 5. Worked a lot of hours in the summer, then did not work in the fall b/c the store which employed me (The Intimate Bookshop at Four Seasons Mall--extra points to anyone who remembers that place) closed. Went from wearing a part in my hair to not wearing one (OMG style alert!1). Filled out college applications. (on a typewriter no less...) Got our first computer at home that Christmas.
