I am 100% serious. Look, we can go back and forth all day. There's only 3 opinions that matter about this issue. Not Jim Rome, Skip Bayless, Wilbon, Paige, Marriotti, etc. Hansblow, Ellington, and Lawson's opinion on the matter, however, matter greatly. If you think Roy's head was in this game as if it were a regular final four game, I think you're head is in the clouds. 40-12? Davidson and Memphis both had Kansas dead in the water, and UNC's All American/ACC talent manages to get blitzed 40-12. The Knicks couldn't go 40-12 vs UNC. Roy's poise wasn't what it needed to be. Like I said, I don't think any of the players minded his attending the game, but the Jayhawk logo was too much if I were one of the big three for UNC, especially the halftime interview with it in plain site.

^^im neutral on the situation and i really do not think its that big of a deal for sure. but your last statement almost contradicted what the rest of your post said. if unc had played really well and Kansas just had an outstanding game I think that things might be a little different.

the fact that UNC blew it so bad is one of the things people are mad about.

First of all, none of those players have any right to be outraged...What about your team shooting 35% from the floor and allowing the other team to shoot 53% from the floor has to do with your coach's head being in the game? Ellignton 8-21, Hansblow 6-13, Ginyard 0-3, Lawson 2-8. That and getting beat on the defensive end has little to do with how Roy coaches.

UNC's game plan was the same it has been all year...run and score as many points as you can. Kansas finally stoped them. It's not like UNC has been unbeatable or untouchable all season. And it's not like Roy and others have criticized the team for lack of defensive effort. You can't blame a team for trying to do what they've been doing (succesfully) all year. Players didn't perform, it is what it is.

I consider my roommate to be one of the more level-headed UNC fans out there....and he was kind of pissed about the whole situation. It surprised me.

He said it gave him (and other UNC fans) the impression that Roy might not have taken the previous game as seriously had it been another opponent (which I didn't mention was fucking retarded). Which is what it seems like a lot of UNC fans are now believing.

I'm certainly not too proud to admit it. I think his actions were ill-advised and reflect poorly on the Carolina basketball program. He had to know the media would take something controversial like this and run with it.
