If hooksaw is like me, then he smoked for many years on a regular basis. I dont know if the quality of weed has anything to do with it but I smoked high grade stuff almost all of the time. Anyway, smoked constantly, had a tolerance built up and the body was pretty adjusted to accepting marijuana and the effects it brought on. Then, for one reason or another stopped smoking completely. I went a very long time without touching pot. Just a personal choice, nothing against it. Probably a year and several months without it. Then almost every time i've smoked since then the feelings/effect brought on isn't the same. They tend to be more adverse. The anxiety is kind of surreal. You know nothing is the matter, yet your body reacts like there is. Slight paranoia, feeling of being uncomfortable in social situations, etc. Nothing like a bad trip, like i mentioned earlier. Just kind of an anti-social anxiety. Marijuana is definitely a calm, lazy drug, but I used to never have a problem going out or doing things on it. Never. But now if I smoke I wouldn't want to step foot in a walmart or a restaurant or anything like that. I'd have to just be hanging out watching tv or something with privacy.

I dunno its weird, like I said its not flat out paranoia. Cause we are smarter, more experienced than that. That's why I call it a surreal anxiety

I pretty much stopped smoking pot by the end of my sophomore year. I've probably smoked 10 times total in the last 8 years. It was always a decent high, but I don't really miss it or anything. The few times I've done it since I stopped have been just ok.

This is exactly what i have experienced and what two of my good buddies have recently been going through as well. it used to be that i could hit two gbos and go out in public and have no issues, but now if i smoke just a little bit and go out i'm uncomfortable and questioning almost my every action or thought. additionally i find myself getting on a negative thought path from time to time and it really kills my mood. I don't know why it started but this also took place for me after going from 3 - 4 times a day to smoking once or so every few days. Definitely isn't what it used to be for me so i don't feel as compelled to smoke any more. Some of it i think has part to do with the fact that when i smoked in college that I was in a group or around many people who had just smoked at any given point and time and I also wasn't as concerned with how people were viewing me; thus, i didn't fall into the slippery slope that results in a bad high.
