My guess is they'll have toned-down fatalities ala MK1 on the SNES. In other words, burning people to death and electrocuting them, but no decapitations or ripped off body parts.

I think a mix of MK1 classics with MKII flavor...MKII still wasn't that bad for brutality apart from limbs being ripped off

just saw some footage from E3 of this game.

MK have fatalities(yes I saw Scorpions fatality and you do see the opponent burning up)
DC has brutalities

You never see Hulk, Iron Man or Wolverine worry about killing some badguy. Spiderman, sure, but he's the one that the other heroes laugh at behind his back.
