this is absolute bullshit. I am sensitive to high frequency noise and if i caught i store i frequent using this shit i probably would sneak back at night and break that shit.

When i enter my apartment i can hear rather a not a TV is on in one of the bedrooms even if it is not tuned to a channel b.c i can hear the buzz from the tv screen.

This is just more reason for teens to blast music in their cars to fuck up their hearing - and make those teen repellers useless against teens

I thought I would be able to hear all of them because I'm the same way, but I can't hear the 18-year-old ones.

[Edited on April 25, 2008 at 10:57 AM. Reason : well, I can barely hear 20khz]

it has a lot to do with the soundcard and speakers you have too, my shitty laptop speakers wont play the higher frequencies as well as my Shure e2c headphones

I tried creating a 17KHz tone with Audacity and putting that on my cell phone, and it sounded entirely different as a ringtone, audible to everyone

I'm 27 and I can't hear the under 30 tone. I always thought I'd taken good care of my hearing

I don't see anything wrong with it, it's a lot more humane than tear gas (though I wouldn't have any problem with using tear gas on some teenagers). Imagine hooking it up to a PA system on your car! The barnes & noble in Greensboro has these damn goth kids hanging around outside a lot, I'd like to use it on them

I can hear every single one with exceptional clarity and I'm... well, I'm older than most here. I can't help but feel like this is a hoax.

Now that I just played them on good speakers, I can hear all of them. I think these are bullshit. The one on the JCOrange page, on the other hand, I could barely hear, at age 27. Kind of sounds like a muted TV set.

Yeah this is a great idea, no teenager is gonna get violent when they hear these, they sure wouldn't think about smashing/shooting/knocking the thing off the wall...
