Me and my girl both enjoyed. Everyone in the theatre enjoyed. It was a good, it was funny, it was entertaining, and I genuinely laughed.

This is not a Comic Book movie, and not a play on Comic Book movies. It is honestly just a joyful and fun movie. I would not take anyone under 10 to see it though.

I was also glad they kept it moving, and kept the movie basic, and did not overrun it in time.

My god why do they keep making movies like this? Who actually likes them? Even the stupidest people I've known have said that they turned off Meet the Spartans after the first 5 minutes because it was stupid.

saw it last night with Atlas.. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Didn't expect much of what happened- it was certainly a pleasant surprise. I whole heartedly recommend it

it does make one ask themselves a tough question:

if you had to choose between having charlize theron or immortality + super powers, which would you choose?

tough decisions, tougher answers

I'd take Charlize Theron. Immortality would get old after a while.

It was entertaining but not great. Probably not gonna be one I pick up on DVD but probably in my top 10 of the summer.

And it'll hold me over until Dark Knight.

The biggest problem with the movie is that while a good Will Smith movie, it's not a great July 4th Weekend Will Smith movie.

That said, I enjoyed it and love Jason Bateman.

Would take bing immortal and just break off CT now and then and roll out and get with others.

Yeah, I agree with the 4th of July thing, its a good Will Smith movie, but you come to expect so much from the 4th of July movies...Oh well, still a good movie. I will still put in DVD collection.

Call me asshole one more time...

Entertaining movie.

Theron was hot as balls when she got super-heroish (darker makeup, sexy outfit).

early in his movie career, Will Smith looked at the top 10 highest grossing movies of all time and realized that like 8 of the 10 of them were special effect action movies that came out in the summer. he then decided to focus his career on making as many action movies with special effects and cgi as possible...thus, you get Will Smith every july 4th weekend. dude's a genius...except he passed on the matrix

He's still a damn good actor.

Pursuit of Happyness and Ali were awesome.

I'm still yet to catch Six Degrees of Separation.

it wasnt a bad movie, but all of the abrupt plot changes didnt do it for me. all of a sudden hes motivated to do time. the whole superwoman thing was weak, if we had more of the drunken hancock to give the s tory more cohesion and cut out the superwoman shit, it could have been great. however, that said, it was nice to see a somewhat unique superhero movie for once, and im sure jesse jackson is now glad we can have superheroes of different races

I thought the transition of him spending time and deciding to spend time was great. I thought the transition was smooth without overdoing it. And they showed how he wanted to leave and just busted out, and then deciding to try it out, and still showed that he could just up and go lol, like they could really him.

Was simple enough to follow and enough of a plot to keep you interested. I would like to know more about their history myself...

This movie was awful. The story behind why Hancock was who he was sounded like something that came out of some obligatory conference between Brett Ratner and like 2 people that failed out of their history major in college...

also, Bigman, dude...you really seem to have poor/low standards for movies. It's as if somebody could make any piece of shit and dress it up in a superhero costume and you'd be all, "I enjoyed that..." Whatever. Not trying to pick on you personally, but fuck man...get some new standards...

i wouldn't go see it in the theaters again or buy it, but it'll be worth renting if it comes out in HD

I thought the "twist" of the movie was pretty lame. I missed a few things (spoilers):

1) So they are immortal... unless they are together, then they are mortal. How together do they have to be? Apparently the same room is together enough, but a few city blocks is away enough. At first I thought it had to do with physical contact, but who knows.

I guess they also spent all of those thousands of years apart, even though they were married, because if they were together they would have aged. All in all this was a pretty lame plot device to give Hancock a weakness for the bad guys to exploit at the end of the film.

2) So why exactly did she want to fight him before she explained their back story. It's like they were trying to play her as a potential rival from the forgotten past. I guess that's what they were going for though.

3) Did the super people have some sort of obligation to play the role of the superhero? I guess the chick took the road of being the nurturing superhero as opposed to the save lives in a spectacular fashion super hero.

Cool flick. Not gonna change the world of film or anything, but fun.

It doesn't matter. That kind of minutae is not relevant to the main tragic principle: these two people can never be together.

^^^1) I think "together" means connected or in love. Will didn't get the bruise until he developed his attraction to Charlize at dinner.

2) She fought him because she's hostile to the idea of them being together. It causes nothing but pain and puts their lives at risk. I guess she wanted him to back off.

3) She mentioned Will had a strong sense of justice.

Might pick it up on DVD. It was a fun flick, though I wish the CGI was a bit better.

I see where you're going with this, but doesn't placing one of them in peril create a catch 22? They are "together", so they become mortal. One of them gets hurt and is in mortal danger, so the other has to stop caring, if you will, in order for the other to become immortal again moments before they die.

So in the moment people love the most, when someone you love is about to die, you have to care the least. I guess physical distance severs that connection. I guess their mortality doesn't extend to aging, or they've spent almost all of their time in the past apart.

I'm still going with lame plot device to give the character a weakness for purposes of creating suspense. A Superman movie is pretty boring when he is invincible, gotta come up with some sort of kryptonite.

How is it a lame device if it is the basis of the movie?

I mean something had to be done to allow the bad guys to damage them, or else it would have been a really stupid movie where he just kicked everyone's ass and then it ended in divorce court fighting over the woman?

Ok, I'm saying it was a lame movie then.

Just because they need a plot device to weaken him doesn't mean they had to go that direction, and the direction they went just didn't work for me.

It would have been good if he was an asshole the whole time

It would have been good if they played the mythological fate angle the whole time

When they combined the two, it came out just average
