and IDs are supposed to be asked for by default. the only time when you're not supposed to ask for it is if there's no signature on the back. " |
are you serious?
i hope you just wrote that out wrong
you're saying you check id when it is signed
and let it go when it's not signed
and i'm assuming by when you say "a customer" means you're in the service industry... scary4/28/2008 7:21:06 PM |

Yeah, they're not supposed to but the companies don't actually enforce the rule and with how high the fees can be a lot of stores that deal mainly with smaller transactions set a minimum so they're not getting raped up the ass. Those corner stores are between a rock and a hard place.4/28/2008 8:39:00 PM |

Yes, but other than that, you're not suppose to.
Even with signatures, you're suppose to ask them to sign it, if it's not signed, and if they refuse to sign it, you're suppose to reject the card. The rules recently changed and this is new, AFAIK.4/28/2008 8:45:03 PM |

In general, it's a bad idea to write "See ID" on the back. You don't want the cashier to be looking at your ID.
^^ 1. I've tried to read her post correctly, and I'm still not getting it. How could she have possibly been talking about signatures and not IDs?
2. Why did you call me Ms. Reading Comprehension? I think I've trotted out the reading comprehension line maybe three times in the past bazillion years.
3. And why is she winking at you so much? 4/29/2008 6:32:36 AM |
