its sort of pointless. you'd still have to shave your neck. even when i grow a beard, i have to shave my neck or it's very scratchy.

^that's exactly what you don't do. no razor comes near me during exams. i shave the weekend before exams begin in order to shorten the period of itchiness.

it's just some tradition/superstition i have developed.

ya, i don't shave either, i may actually let it go until after the Highland Games at grandfather mountain this July, I'm competing this year & I've got Scottish in my blood from my mother's side, my facial hair turns a nice auburn if I let it go for too long

would be pimp to show up at the games in a kilt and a beard

well, i would say that only important things warrant a shave. it's not like a grow a special beard, i have a trimmed beard most of the school year. i just don't shave my neck or trim it up from the end of dead week til after my last exam. it's really not a big deal at all.

I always grew exam beards for a couple a reasons

1. Lets face it shaving sucks...the only reason we do it is to look decent and impress girls. Since exam time is mainly spent away from prevalent social interaction, you can afford to let yourself go.

2. Stroking your beard helps me think...when I'm clean shaven, I can't rub my chin and contemplate like I can when I'm rocking a two-weeker.

and other reasons, but thats all I care to share.

I used to, I don't think it was ever a huge superstition though, i just got too busy with tests/projects leading up to and during dead week/finals and said fuck it

but generally my shaving directly correlates to the amount of chicks im expecting to interact with in the given time period
