Wow, I can't believe how many people are so against something like this. What did dogs ever do to you?

People aren't going to take their dogs out unless their dogs know how to behave. There is nothing wrong with taking a dog wherever you go if its allowed by the location/store/restaurant/hotel, etc. Most people spend all day at work away from their dog so if they're going out at night for dinner or a drink they'd like to take their dog along. I've taken my dog on the subway (which technically you shouldn't) and no matter how crowded it is I've gotten nothing but smiles and compliments from people.

I try to take my dog out with me all the time if it'll work out. In fact when my dog turned 1 year old last summer I took him out to the bar to celebrate! (see pic below). He's not a fan of alcohol, though he loved the dog biscuits the barback kept giving him. And did the taxi driver on the way home mind? No.

my problem with carter...she likes people a little too much.
which is why, for now, i try to keep her in a bar setting, where people wont mind her whole butt wagging if they come to pet her.

however she has calmed down quite a bit.

and now that its warm im going to definitely take her out more often.

My wife and I were on the way back from the dog park and were thinking we wanted to go out for dinner and didn't want to have to come home to put the dog up. We'll try moonlight next time we're hungry.

i think taking a dog with you to sit on a patio type place is pretty normal??? i guess apparently its offensive. i've just never given that much thought to it. all the dogs i've seen at like the draft house, etc are usually tired from a walk/play and they're just chilling with a bowl of water. they aren't like running around trying to eat peoples food. i mean most places like that are bar style places anyway--it isn't like they are that classy. people used to bring their dogs and sit outside at woody's all the time because they'd just be downtown walking around with the dog. but on a nice day it seems normal to go grab some lunch or a few drinks and let your dog sit outside w/ you.

I take my dog Bailey to work every day

I'm an animal science teacher and after the first few days my students think nothing of it. Bailey curls up in a chair or flops on the floor once class starts but will play fetch/tug when there is down time. It's great! I love having him there.

I've taken him to restaurants a few times and he's been in a few bars. Bailey is exceptionally well behaved and nothing bothers him.
My other two dogs are a different story....

I've never been to an outdoor seating place around here without seeing a dog during sunny season. It's quite common in larger cities and I've never seen anyone even bat an eye at it... I'm actually pretty surprised at how many people seem appalled by it on here.

I'll definitely bring a dog out when I get one if it's a place that is casual and has outdoor seating... and I agree with bobbydigital. A fat fuck stuffing his face with enough food for 3 is far more offensive than a well behaved dog sitting down under the table not bothering anyone...

And I hate fat people as much as the next person, but I think there should be a line drawn when it comes to the public patronizing a restaurant, whether indoors or out. Everyone else pays just as much as you to eat there, why do you feel like its your right to bring your dirty ass dog thats shedding hair everywhere, drooling, panting, and staring at the next person trying to eat their meal?

WARNING: THIS IS ABOUT TO BE GROSS. Imagine if you were naked (rear ends and genials out in the open), didn't wipe your butt, spent lots of time walking barefoot outside (stepping in who knows what), sniffing other animals. actually one time, when i was four, a man ran into my yard and tried to grab me.
my dog bit the shit out of his leg and he ran off.
my mom happen to see him as he was running and i was crying.
dog chased him.
dog came back.
man never did.

one of the may reasons i love my pets.

And I think Twista is on point with what he said... if you don't want to go somewhere that allows dogs outside, then you have that choice. As I said before, urban areas typically allow owners to bring their dogs to outside seating areas..

If there is a problem, 99 times out of 100 it's the dumbass owners fault and not the dog. I've never seen any problem in all the places that I've gone to. In California there are dogs at literally every outside seating restaraunt around..

^^haha, I know right Bryan? I've actually had a pedestrian interrupt me while I was on the phone walking my dog, yelling at me "is that a Dingo?!" About 50% of the people that talk to me about my dog think he's a fox. I've even had a cop car pull over and one of the cops ask me what kind of dog that is.

im okay with dogs outside, just like im okay with smokers smoking in a designated area.

I will agree however, than while some of you are probably very responsable pet owners, not everyone is. Ive been at places where peoples dogs sit quiety under a table while they eat. And places wehre they strain at the leash and jump on the table.

One of these is acceptable, one of these is not. (just like children)
