The CTV news reporter was awesome when the balloon took off in the background. Dude thought he was already missing out on reporting the launch.

as the air pressure increases, does he slow down naturally? I imagine opening a chute at 1000mph would rip his body apart. He probably has a series of chutes to slow him down.

That's disappointing. How in the heck did the balloon become detatched before he even took off? Seems like they are not being very careful.

You would slow down when you got into normal air to normal speeds.

That's why you always pay the extra $10 for the balloon insurance.

He'll slow down naturally, just by air resistance on his body until he reaches normal parachuting speeds at normal parachuting altitudes.

Sounds like John Carmack and his lack of attention to detail during the X-Prize.

I pictured it was like one of those runaway balloons from a parade

Someone needs to shoot this joker for wasting 21 million cubic feet of helium. Not only is it a non-renewable resource currently in high demand, it's expensive as hell.

negative ghostrider, he will only experience this while falling... (free fall) as he will have no transverse velocity to earths gravity which to cancel out gravitational effects
