no no, you have to scare the shit out of them by flashing the lights on and off and running at them from the other side of the room, then immediately throw them into the steamer. the fear makes them taste all the sweeter

i do feel slightly bad for the lobsters. and at the beach when i was little i used to cry when we caught crabs and had to put them into be steamed alive ahhhh.

but the tasted so good.

on another note my friend works with food and told me when the prep crabs they take orange handle scissors and cut off the crabs faces while they are still alive. EEEEEK. i don't know if i could do that, but i can definitely eat it after someone else has done it. oopsy.

When I used to work at 42nd Street the old black cooks would always yell out "Dead man walking" when they were carrying a lobster 30 feet from the tank to the pot.
