I dislike both strong northern and strong southern pronunciations of light

northern - loight (like the first part of loitering)

southern - liiiite

Eh, maybe not the "north" but 2 people I know from Maryland say it like this. Also white, hight, right, etc.

ahahaha, I used to work with a woman who would say this ALL THE TIME. "Lemme borrow your pin." My what?! She got teased endlessly about it.

I hate when people say "Best Buys" "Lowes" "Bonjangles" or "Starbucks" among others.

When I worked for Starbucks, we would have people calling it Starbuck all the time. It was pretty annoying. "Yeah, I love me some Starbuck!" Really, you like the character from Moby Dick? That's nice.

My dad says Best Buys all the time. I've given up trying to tell them the name isn't pluralized

There's a professor at State (in CHASS) who was talking about someone named Marcia Garcia.

So, naturally, she pronounced the name as Marsha Garsha.

Same professor also calls centaurs centwars.

'arear' instead if area

'cah' instead of car

'frag' instead of frog

I have been with a girl from England all week, so some of these are heard less often by most people.
