"record low killings" - wow, nice metric.
let's see.... how many of our soldiers would be killed in Iraq if none of them were in Iraq....? Eh, who care's - if it's just, i don't know, 1 or 2 a week, that's not bad. I'm sure their families won't mind, especially with the knowledge that hey at least it's not 20 soldiers a week!

the logic of you people escapes me. First, we must remain in Iraq because our soldiers are getting killed, and therefore the war isn't over. Now we must remain in Iraq because our solders aren't getting killed, so what's the harm in staying!

It's completely insane to use that logic. It's not too different from the logic that got us there in the first place. Fear of the Unknown.

^x6 Apparently, it's something along those lines:

Lara Logan's foreign affairs revealed

Quote :
"Lara Logan, CBS network's Chief Foreign Affairs correspondent, appears to be taking her job title a little too literally. The New York Post claims that while on assignment in Baghdad, she became embroiled in a 'love triangle', conducting simultaneous sexual relationships with CNN war reporter Michael Ware and a US contractor called Joe Burkett. The course of (true) love did not run smoothly – the two men allegedly ended up fighting over Logan, 37, a former swimwear model, in a Baghdad bar.

Thus far Logan has not commented on the claims, however a friend of Burkett's wife, who works as an embassy official in the Iraqi capital, confirmed to the Post that Logan and Burkett were lovers. However, the same source insisted this is not why she filed divorce papers against her husband in January.

As for the other claims, an unnamed male friend of Logan admits that she did have a one-time fling with Ware, but denies the bar room incident ended in fisticuffs. He said: 'There was no screaming match.'

Logan does not have much luck with relationships. She is presently going through a painful divorce from her husband of nine years, Jason Siemon, a former European-league basketball player."

NEW YORK (July 9) - Lara Logan, the chief foreign affairs correspondent for CBS News, tells The Washington Post she is pregnant, and the father is a married federal contractor whom she met while stationed in Iraq.

Logan's relationship with Joseph Burkett - who's in the midst of a divorce from wife Kimberly, with whom he has a 3-year-old daughter - has made media headlines, including the front page of the New York Post."
