Arshavin is valued at 24 million Euros.

My transfer predictions:

Adebayor is goin to Milan (bet on it)

Drogba is going back to Olympique Marseille

Berbatov is goin nowhere

Klaas Jan Huntelaar is coming to Old Trafford

Lampard no where this season. He is under contract for one more year and Inter's Transfer Fee is too low in my opinion.

Hleb to Barca (good as gone already)

CR7 - nowhere

Arshavin to Chelsea

Ronaldinho to Milan if Marseilles sign Drogba

Gareth Barry will be at Anfield next season

Bentley to Spurs

Obefemi Martins to Arsenal as soon as Adebayor's gone

Real Madrid were last night considering a bid which sources at the Bernabéu claim is worth €60m (£48m) for the Brazilian playmaker Robinho after the Chelsea chief executive, Peter Kenyon, called Madrid's sporting director, Predrag Mijatovic, to increase a €40 offer first tabled last Friday. However, the La Liga champions are reluctant to lose the 24-year-old Brazilian while their capture of Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo remains uncertain. Robinho, meanwhile, is determined to move to Stamford Bridge in order to work with their new coach Luiz Felipe Scolari.

Chelsea's renewed bid came in the wake of a tense meeting at the Bernabéu yesterday morning in which Robinho, flanked by his agent Wagner Ribeiro, told Mijatovic face to face of his desire to leave Madrid and play under Scolari. Robinho described the chance to link up with the Chelsea manager as "a dream".

Robinho failed to report to a pre-season get-together yesterday afternoon and will today fly to Brazil. His absence was officially attributed to his call-up for the Brazilian Olympic squad, but owes more to his annoyance at the Madrid side's failure to negotiate his departure. His advisers believe Real cannot oblige him to stay in light of their pursuit of Ronaldo. They are working to break the deadlock.

^ And that is why Real won't sign Ronaldo. They want to use Robinho as a makeweight, and dude is (rightfully so) not having a bit of it.

CR7 will leave Old Trafford only under the terms SAF dictates. That being said, he is not leaving this year, but will probably go next year unless he pulls his shit together and realizes that no one player is bigger than Manchester United.

They're offering a full 100k more a week than Milan is, according to reports.

Shit, if Shinatwatra has got it like that, let him waste his money. He'll never be on Abromavic's level.

^There's no way Arsenal will pay the 18 mil or so that Aston Villa wants for Barry. Besides, if a players past puberty, hes too old for Arsenal. I think O'Neill made this up just to put pressure on Liverpool so they'll pay what Aston Villa are asking for.

Arsenal is in need of a good CM... they've lost Flamini, and Gilberto is on his way to Greece.

Is it so far fetched to think that they might "break the bank" for Barry?

Nasri and Fabregas are CAMs, not CMs. You need a holding middie or you'll never have any success.

I think they wanted him, just not for Rafa's ridiculous 14 million price tag... that cat needs to re-evaluate his roster's value and he should probably give away some guys cheaper than he'd like to just to clear room

Yeah, that is true.

I'm surprised he let Crouchy go for so cheap. He honestly should have gotten rid of Voronin. That guy is GARBAGE.

if they get Keane, they really don't need Barry; I'm assuming they only get one or the other so, my thinking is --

with Keane, they play a 4-4-2 with Gerrard/Masch in the midfield or something like a 4-3-1-2

without Keane, they play a 4-4-1-1 with Barry/Masch in the midfield and Gerrard as a withdrawn forward

I would prefer the Keane/Torres combo.

If Chelsea can somehow land Robinho we can let Drogba leave.

im not a big liverpool fan, but i think keane would be pretty much the perfect compliment to torres. They need someone who can create torres some opportunities and take some heat off him, and voronin and kuyt arent the answer.

in other news , i really hope man utd doesnt sign berbatov for 30 million. If they got him for 10 i might be happy, but hes like 27 years old and not exactly the answer to man utds problems. They should go after Huntelaar, he'd be a sick backup.

Berbatov will fit in well at ManU, if and when he comes.

That being said, I hope signing him isn't at the expense of KJH.

KJH is going to be for United what Torres is for Liverpool (and should have been for United)

how is Sir publicly saying Berbatov will join United any different than what Real is doing with Ronaldo?

probably just the amount hes doing it. Real Madrid was saying somethign every day about how theyre waiting for ronaldo and he's theres but SAF only did it once or twice.

I really hope you aren't right about Berbatov being at the expense of KJH, if that was true about KJH or Sergio Aguero, i would be pretty upset with Man Utd

Because United have officially lodged an offer, and aren't using the papers to unsettle the player with completely unfounded rumors.

Marca is throwing out WILD shit that SAF has told CR7 to GTFO (he hasn't, because CR7'd be gone IMMEDIATELY), that the Glazers are willing to sell (they aren't, because if they were the deal'd be done already), etc etc etc

Marca is basically the mouthpiece of the Madrid board, and is how they escape constant charges of trying to unsettle players. If Madrid had even passed an offer sheet to United, then that's one thing. I doubt that they have, considering their finances. United is very straightforward in their behavior - as evidenced by the Hargreaves saga. They deal directly with the club and there is no underhandedness going on. Yes, it irritates people that United will throw money around until they get their way, but everyone has a price. This is much different from the Madrid model of throwing around rumors until the club in question thinks the player is damaged goods and is willing to let him go at a cut rate.

Here's the United model on purchasing a player:

United: We want him, we will pay X amount.

Bayern: He is not for sale.

United: Ok, we will pay Y amount, please reconsider.

Bayern: We're listening, but go higher.

United: Ok, we will pay Z amount for this player.

Bayern: Sold.

Here's the Madrid method:

Marca: UNITED WANT TO SELL CR7 TO MADRID

United: Wait, what?

Marca: UNITED ARE WILLING TO SELL CR7 FOR ROBINHO AND 75 MILLION QUID

United: Now hold on just a god damned minute, the boy's not for sale, and to boot, no one's even asked...

Marca: CR7 AND SAF HAVE BUST UP OVER TRANSFER TO MADRID, ALSO SPACE ALIENS AND VAMPIRE BABIES

Madrid: We would like very much to have CR7, but this is a matter between himself and the club. He is under contract and Madrid respects contracts.

Marca: CR7 GIVES BIRTH TO GOLDEN FOOTBALL, NAMES IT MADRIDISTA, PROMISES HEART AND SOUL TO MADRID FOREVER AND EVER ALWAYS, WILL BEGIN CUTTING HIMSELF UNTIL TRANSFER REQUEST IS PUT THROUGH

United: CR7 is not for sale. We have not recieved an offer sheet from Madrid (because they cannot afford him). Nor have we received a transfer request from the player himself.

Sepp Blatter: MADRID HAVE PAID ME UNDER THE TABLE TO MAKE LUDICROUS CLAIMS ABOUT PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALLING BEING AKIN TO SLAVERY, IN FURTHER ATTEMPTS TO UNDERHANDEDLY UNSETTLE THE PLAYER THAT THEY WANT. ALSO PAY NO MIND THAT I NEVER ACTUALLY PLAYED THE SPORT.

United: Jesus Tittyfucking Christ!

Marca: UNITED TAKES LORDS NAME IN VAIN, CR7 CUTS SELF, A BLACK CLOUD OVER MANCHESTER

and so on and so forth until the transfer window closes

seems like Spurs thinks it's the same nonsense

Quote :
""Today's public comments by Manchester United's manager, announcing that he has made an offer for Dimitar and is confident that the deal will go through with time working in their favour, is a blatant example of sheer arrogance and interference with one of our players.

"It is also probably one of the worst offences by any manager in the Premier League to date and is unbelievably hypocritical given his recent comments in respect of Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid.

"This comes after a series of events, dating back to last summer, which have shown Manchester United to be in breach of Premier League rules.

"As a result, we have today made an official complaint to the Premier League about the conduct of Manchester United.

"Benitez made similar comments in respect of Robbie recently and we made an official complaint to the Premier League about the conduct of Liverpool earlier this week.

"The behaviour of both clubs has been disgraceful. We told both clubs very early on that we had no interest in selling Robbie or Dimitar, respectively, and that they should refrain from pursuing the player.

"Both clubs arrogantly chose to ignore this request and we now have evidence that both clubs have systematically been working to prise the players away from us, outside of Premier League rules of conduct.

"Our subsequent position has been severely compromised by both clubs making their intentions widely known and indeed making contact with the players and their agents, without the club's permission.

"I have absolutely no wish to sell either player and to date we have not accepted any offer for either.

"However, when a player's head is turned and their commitment is absent, particularly when they occupy key positions such as that of striker, they become a negative influence in a team dressing room in which they were once a positive addition and influence.

"This is the situation we now have on our hands, with both Dimitar and Robbie having made it clear that they wish to leave for Manchester Utd and Liverpool respectively. "

Yeah, it's not so much Man U or Liverpool's fault if players they've declared interest in want to leave their current club to play for them.

I really hope Berbatov doesn't go to Man utd. If he does, I can't imagine wasting him as a backup. The move for Keane pretty much places Kuyt on the wing unless Keane is just a Torres' backup. Sell Alonso and Voronin for Silva. The Reds don't really need another midfielder that badly, and let Silva and Dossena work together on the left.

Babel is really promising. But all the "analysts" are still saying the Reds need another winger and forward. It looks like Keane is going through. Nobody will know really until the futures of Pennant, Voronin, Alonso, etc. are more clear. If no one goes for Alonso, then the Barry deal is done for. I'd prefer Pennant to go, possibly even Alonso. Many say Voronin isn't top-rate enough to be in the big four, but he has a better attitude than both Pennant and possibly Alonso. But his pre-season performances are only raising his value right now, so he should be an option to sell.

Anyone following Arsenal's moves? I know Hleb, Flamini and Gilberto are gone. So Wenger's gotta be looking for a holding mid and a playmaker, and a winger? Maybe Tottenham will ship Dimitar off to the Gunners to spite the Mancs. The news is also saying Robinho is dying to go to Chelski to work with Scolari, esp. with RM baiting twinkle toes in the news.

-also did you guys see that sunderland got el-hadji diouf? he could be pretty good for sunderland, as long as keane doesnt murder him before the end of the season.

you may like them better, but there's no way you can call that duo more talented/potent/dangerous/etc than Torres/Keane

Tevez/Rooney can't really be considered a forward duo anyways considering they're always switching around with Ronaldo and each other to various midfield/wing/forward positions. As a two pure striker duo, I don't think there's any team in England that can compare with Liverpool's now. Too bad their outside midfielders aren't as good as some of those in Manchester....

yea i agree that keane and torres is a better combo, i was just saying that i like tevez and rooney better. rooney and tevez are both awesome, but they play a really similar game. Neither of them is a real finisher like van nistlerooy or torres. Maybe if SAF plays rooney up top all the time this year he will develop more as a striker.
