Studies have shown that as little as two servings of soy per week can have a notable effect on sperm count. Plant estrogens = bad for healthy males IMO.

You pay for a better base product. Removal of fat is a good thing. Very few people over the age of 2 need the extra fat from whole milk. For reference, I think whole milk gets around 40% of it's calories from fat whereas skim milk gets about 4%.

I don't see where he was "buying" it. I wonder what the rules are regarding giving it away.

my grandpa sells the shit out of homegrown eggs" |
Eggs from a free range hen with a natural diet (some chicken feed + a lot of bugs, worms, etc. that they'll pick out of the yard) are much healthier than most of the stuff you see in a grocery store. The taste is very distinct. The junk most of us have grown accustomed to is barely an egg in any traditional sense and has very little taste as well.
The health benefits of free range eggs come mostly from the ratio of Omega 3 to Omega 6 fats. A free range egg might have a ratio of 1:3 or so whereas commercial eggs are often 1:200 or worse. American diets typically have a terrible ratio of Omega 3's to Omega 6's. Some of it is our own fault for not eating the right foods, but in a lot of ways it is the fault of our food suppliers who have tampered with the food to make it unnatural and unhealthy.7/8/2008 9:59:21 AM |

^be careful with studies
studies also show that it may be healthy to only get 15-20 minutes of sunlight every three days. (all you need for adequate vitamin d...after that it's "overkill") 7/8/2008 12:24:50 PM |

Tr00, but there are plenty of studies that have shown measurable loss in testosterone after seemingly minor soy consumption which just isn't a good idea for men IMO. Besides, there are plenty of other sources of nutrition whereas there are not many adequate food sources of Vitamin D without taking supplements (which I'm not entirely convinced on.) 7/8/2008 1:21:33 PM |

There's studies that show that drinking skim milk is horrible for you as opposed to whole milk.
Essentially, you can't win. 7/9/2008 6:56:02 AM |
