And now they're saying Magette to the Warriors. Goodness...this is good stuff.

And Bucher from ESPN is saying Brand won't "re-nig". Honestly...people have got to come up with a better word when talking about black players.

I guess Brand is thinking that he's got a better chance of getting to the NBA finals in the East with the 76ers than he has in the West staying with the Clippers. Which makes good sense....then you add the $$$$$$$.

NBA should be fun again next year.

Clippers are looking at Okafor and Josh Smith now

I have to say, I wouldn't be going "Oh, shit" if they signed Emeka

I have to root for Chris Duhon? Seriously?

Honestly, it'll be easier to root for the team this year with Duhon than it was to root for last year's disaster of a team. I'm really hoping they move Z-Bo somehow (and so are they), but hopefully somehow D'antoni gets the players to mesh with his system at least a little. Really the best thing is for them to be in the Brandon Jennings/Ricky Rubio sweepstakes next year.

Just saw on the bottom line that Andrew FUCKING Bogut got a 5 year, 72.5 million extention

Okafor just got a boner

Wow. To his defense, Bogut played really well the last 1/2 to 1/3 of the season. He was on my fantasy team and did really well.

He did Ok

but everyone here in Charlotte was saying that Okafor was crazy to turn down 13 a year

and I think most around the league would prefer Okafor to Bogut

I'd probably prefer Bogut. Has more offensive skills...and gets pretty comparable rebounds and blocks. Is injured a little himself, but not even close to Okafor's past.

Main reason why I would want Bogut over Okafor. Self-motivator and congratulator.

Mickael Pietrus leaving Warriors for Magic. Not exactly a big name, but he was definitely a big part in their playoff run the year before last and was another reason why they were so fun to watch.

The Warriors are going to be a completely different team next year.

Yeah...I like Lewis' game, but he got way too much money last year. That being said, the Magic are still a better point guard (or better/more consistent play from Nelson) away from being a legit East title contender.

as long as Howard continues to improve I agree...it could be a concern that he injured himself during the Detroit playoff series and still isn't 100% yet and he's slated to play for Team USA but he is a horse

the next two offseasons are pose to be a lot sexier in terms of free agents

obviously LBJ in 2010 but check this out

Quote :
"Those who have been observing the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, New Jersey Nets and New York Knicks, among others, maneuver to create salary-cap space already have heard about "the Summer of LeBron." That's 2010, the year that LeBron James can opt out of his contract with the Cavs.

But the offseason of 2010 is not just the Summer of LeBron: It's also the Summer of Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire, Ray Allen, Tyson Chandler, Manu Ginobili, Richard Jefferson, Joe Johnson, Tracy McGrady, Yao Ming, Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki and Michael Redd, each of whom can become an unrestricted free agent in 2010.

And in 2009, the list is illustrious, too: Kobe Bryant, Carlos Boozer, Allen Iverson, Ron Artest, Richard Hamilton, Jason Kidd, Shawn Marion, Andre Miller, Lamar Odom and Rasheed Wallace can become unrestricted free agents next year.

And that's not to mention all the restricted free agents, as you can see below.

Of course, not all of these players will reach free agency. But some will, which is why we're already hearing buzz about the summers of 2009 and 2010. "

Of 164 possible games played by him and Baron next season

they'll be lucky to get 120

"Rockets sign free agent Barry
7/11/2008, 12:09 a.m. EDT
The Associated Press

HOUSTON (AP) — The Houston Rockets signed free agent Brent Barry to a two-year contract on Thursday, making him the third member of the family to join the franchise.

The 6-foot-7 Barry played 31 games with San Antonio last season and shot 43 percent (48-for-112) from 3-point range. A 13-year veteran, Barry will play for his sixth NBA team after stints with the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, Seattle SuperSonics and the Spurs.

Barry's father, Rick, spent two seasons with the Rockets (1978-80) and his older brother, Jon, played for the team from 2004-06."

They're both 5's, that's a weird trade. I saw something on a Knick blog that said maybe they use Camby to get Zach Randolph from the knicks. Zach's definitely a 4 and the knicks would need camby's expiring contract for the summer of 2010.

Not sure the Celtics win without him last year

theres absolutely nothing that is ever going to change who won the series, or that the Boston Celtics are the 2007-2008 NBA World Champions

but you're also pretty damn naive if you don't get suspicious that Donaghy made more calls to Foster than he made to his bookie, and Foster officiated the finals...

Yeah...I really believe that after the Donaghy shit went down that NBA officials decided to fix games in the NBA Finals this year...

I'm actually not going to make a judgment on anything until more information comes out. But I don't trust anything Donaghy does right now...he's doing his best to make other people look bad and himself look better.

So the fact that phone records the federal government siezed from Donaghy / his phone company show that he called Scott Foster more during the investigative period than he called his BOOKIE doesn't at all seem suspicious?

This is not anything Donaghy is doing to make someone look bad...its his phone records from before he was ever caught...

Quote :
"he's doing his best to make other people look bad and himself look better."

while i completely agree with that point, its funny that you made it...sounds like exactly what David Stern said about the incident a couple months ago when Donaghy started to make claims...Stern was basically doing his best to make Donaghy look bad and make the league look completely innocent

I'm just waiting. Favre's not coming back, Baron and Brand in LA, Josh Hamilton from crackhead to 28 HRs in first round of home run derby...sports and the situations that are going on in them these days are just too damn unpredictable.

The Lakers did get beat by 7 million points in Game 6...that's all I have left to say on that subject.

do you think by admitting that Donaghy isnt the only corrupt official in the NBA that you are going to hurt the Celtics or something? I don't get it, unless you want to be naive

Donaghy called Foster more than Donaghy called his bookie...how can you not be suspicious

I thought that's what you were insinuating. I don't care how many officials were "corrupt" in that series...the Lakers got their asses whipped.

As to what's going on with the NBA officials...I think there probably is a little something else going on. But I'll wait for an explanation as to the phone calls or more evidence before I make my judgment. Donaghy just makes my skin crawl...so I'll be biased and say that I'll take the side against him until I see more shit come out.

this shit isnt about the lakers or celtics, i could care less about those 2 teams

i was pulling for LAL for monetary reasons but i know no new findings are going to change the outcome of the series

but it is fucked up when we know Donaghy is guilty (we almost know) and then just in the last week it comes out that Donaghy called another ref more frequently than he called his bookie...and that ref was still reffing games

Just saw the terms on Posey's contract....holy shit he's getting overpaid. The guy has never averaged double digits. "Intangibles" are getting generously too much weight in his deal. Good probability he won't even be playing halfway into his contract.

4 years at $25 million...ridiculous.

Yeah my initial post complimenting the Hornets was before I saw the numbers

As Hollinger said, he got a 2 year 7 million deal last offseason (with an opt out)

All of the sudden now he's worth twice as much annually, and you trust him to produce till he's 35 ?
