i would not have shared this with tww. you know that as soon as a lot of people start enjoying something they'll start cracking down on it. 7/12/2008 10:50:18 PM |

there were some small rapids going down glenfucklywood of course.
straight and fast, but you just kind of bounce on down the hill. 7/12/2008 11:10:20 PM |

My roommates took a canoe down Crabtree Creek when I lived in a house that backed up to it off Anderson Dr. I think they had to carry the canoe across the road at Wake Forest Rd., but it may have been somewhere else. Either way, two drunk college kids carrying a canoe across a major road in the middle of Raleigh had to be a WTF moment for a lot of people. 7/12/2008 11:19:47 PM |

I live right on Lake Crabtree, I'm guessing it would take the entire day to float from there all the way down to lassiter mill. I've only done Duraleigh until right after Crabtree 7/13/2008 12:18:31 AM |

this seems like fun, tubing down a river drinking
people down here go tubing in the bayou, which is the same thing but just basically floating around in a lake all day
the moving river part seems much better 7/14/2008 6:06:02 PM |

i am very familiar with canoes. i paddle at least 100 miles a year.
in fact i am in the process of buying a canoe rental place on the cape fear river in lillington.
i am also familiar with my backyard, and where we went two days ago.
that being said, a canoe will not work in this section of the creek, as i explained earlier in this thread. 7/14/2008 7:14:22 PM |
